National screw over first time home buyers by scrapping the $60million so they can afford the $2.9billion for rich landlords and they took from front line housing services to pay for Bill English to do his hit job on Kaianga Ora…
the Government is unapologetic about its tough choices on housing, including paying Sir Bill English to review Kāinga Ora using $500,000 from the fund that pays for transitional housing – urgent accommodation for those who don’t have anywhere else to go.
“I think it was done exceptionally well, exceptionally quickly by three experts at a very reasonable cost,” Luxon said of the review.
But McAnulty said about 80 transitional houses “were sacrificed to pay for the review. It’s… poor”.
…this report has been overseen by fanatcal Catholic fundamentalist and former National Party leader Bill English, who has championed social investment which is a right wing ideological experiment using big data to undermine universalism to fund just the cases that cost the State the most.
ImpactLab is a social investment company that Bill English has founded, is run by his daughter and just had New National MP Emma Chatterton leave them to join the Government.
How the living Christ Bill English can get away with reviewing Kaianga Ora using money for transitional housing, pronounce a massive debt problem and offer his company up as the solution is all a tad beyond me.
You voted for this crony capitalism NZ, don;t you dare pretend you didn’t know what these rich pricks were planning because TDB was very vocal in pointing all of this out before the election!
Increasingly having independent opinion in a mainstream media environment which mostly echo one another has become more important than ever, so if you value having an independent voice – please donate here.

Another example of this open and transparent government. They have been bought and paid for by Big Money and now they are delivering what was ordered without a single vestige of shame.
Another example is of how corrupt some farmers are. Those who lurk in the shadows to stab their neighbours in the back. Shit must be real when the God bothering, double dipping Dipton dribbler bastard can be this bold. We’re becoming a land of Lizard People, no disrespect to actual lizards intended.
I’m also reminded of this song by Johnny Cash.
Sooner or later billy.
‘God’s Gonna Cut You Down’

And well done MB and the team.
National have nothing to be ashamed about Spending government money wisely is good news after the Labour years of bloated public service spending .The millions KO have spent with nothing to show of it is a crime.
What leads you believe the expenditure was wisely spent?
All of that aside, Kāinga Ora seemed
to be on track to meet a build of 4,800 state houses this year. To date, it has built 14,000 new state houses in six years. By comparison, in the last year of the previous National government led by Bill English, the net achievement was minus 1,500 state houses.
Gordon Campbell – Scoop
Yeah Trevor, nothing to be ashamed about apart from blatant corruption. They are so drunk with power they don’t even try to hide it.
Trevor has been to the BtF accounting school. Somehow it’s a world where you only look at half the balance sheet. Then when borrowing for tax cuts they buy the bs that they are fully funded. It’s like (as John Clarke told us) towing the ship outside the environment when the front fell off.
“Spending government money wisely”
I reckon a wise government would be reversing the decline in homeownership. When NZ had 90% homeownership crime was lower and social cohesion greater. This government kills the hopes of prospective first home buyers, removing them from the real estate market to the benefit of investor landlords. It was not enough to just help landlords with a $3billion tax break. They are so petty they cut $60 million from first homeowners (and cut the school lunch program).
Landlordism reigns Supreme. This government “For the landlords, by the landlords”.
So in your mind the 100k trade related aprentices who had their fees and half of their wages paid for was a waste of money .Also the doubling of nurses pay and increases for teachers was also a waste of money .Also 5000 extra nurses trained and in the work force .
The only waste here is the current idiots closing down the construction industry instead of building 40k houses a year .When the next boom comes around all those trained people will be working and living the dream off shore some where where their talents are loved
Could any of those idiots build a house themselves? Or do the plumbing and electrics ? How many are in any way usefully skilled ? Key could barely hit a nail with a hammer. Nicky Hager who exposed their dirty politics in a book of the same name, built his own house on Wellington hillside. Key disparaged Hager – who also revealed the NZDF terrorising subsistence peasants in the Tirigan Valley – as a conspiracy theorist, but he got that wrong.
Algorithms, and dehumanising people into economic units can also be wrong.
We need at least 5% unemployed so why not have 10% homeless ?That way we will be the envy of the world and be seen as a rock star economy .The new measure of a great economy is homelessnes and poverty ,the worse they are the better the economy must be .The rich scum would agree with that
indeed gordon ‘structural unemployment’ as an economic lever and a fundamental part of monetary conrol is never mentioned by the priests of economics
I was in Wellington last weekend, wondered what the stench was. I should have known.
Nah, that stench was the sewerage overflows from 30 years of underfunding infrastructure.
Nah, it was the shame of Bill English oozing out of his greedy hypocritical little pores.
Sorry Pip, Billy knows no shame.
Subconscious shame, Justine, just like the unconscious or subconscious bias which various wallopers hurl around.
The framing is typical right wing propaganda, take the grant money off those who think they might have and blaming those who need social housing who know they definitely don’t.
The cost is reasonable we all know that.Because its Bill English the TDB were always going to criticise the whole issue.
What leads you to believe the cost was reasonable?
And it goes beyond just being about it being Bill English when it also relates to the company he co-founded and his daughter is chief executive of.
The cost is reasonable the Labour Government dealt only in millions or billions for no benefit.
You know I’m correct.
We know you are not correct
That’s silly.
The cost seems very high and having a former National party leader involved is an odd choice if you want political buy in. I am not a left voter.
Bobs brain has another rapid unscheduled disassembly.
Troll Bots don’t have brains they have chips
How in heaven Luxon would know that something was “ done exceptionally well” is a bigger mystery than the Incarnation. Presumably this is what one of his numerous paid advisors told him. English wears whatever cloak suits him at any God given time. In Auckland he electioneered as an honorary Samoan chief. Right now he resembles a Nigerian Prince. Not a good look.
I didn’t vote for this circus and the clowns and never will cause they only care about the rich and many NZers are aware of this, but they fell hook line and sinker for the 16 million dollars (donated by the rich) of spin.
The guy is at least staying true to his principles.
Once a double dipper always a double dipper!
And this was a surprise because???
It’s pretty obvious what the end result will be. Privatisation of State/Social Housing. All those MPs with property portfolios not only have their snouts and forepaws in the trough, but now they’re getting their hind quarters in there too.
Gonna take a massive election revolt to gain the two thirds majority to entrench the protections we need.
the petite bourgoise should be aware this govt hates you and want your houses/assets for their corprate masters….the poor have no pips left to squeek and you’re next on their list, a vote to satisfy your rancid hate seals your own fate
I will put this here because you seem to have missed it. Why the fuck is a charity (I am hope) giving over 50g to the national party in election donations? Is a charity allowed to do that with funds donated for mental health? I will tell you why.. to get many millions in funding which it presumably will use to kick back a few hundred thousand donation next election. It would seem blatant bribes are now allowed in NZ politics. Do you have the courage to address this, or is Mike a mate?
Kim. Good point.
It would be great if your dislike of National could be put to one side and you report the truth.
The current chair of I am Hope donated money to National as a private citizen before she was taken on in this role. The money did not come from the charity.
Mike King was shunned by Labour for years despite the great work he is doing in the mental health field for young people .
Thankfully National are giving him support and 300 hundred more councilors can be engaged .
Ok, i see that clarification is out there now, but that’s not how it was originally reported. It’s an easy mistake to believe with all the backdoor donation shit national are known to play.
Bill Englishs’ new name is blinglish
Mike king is acting dumb and now he says she Ballantyne can donate to whoever she wants, can he not see the perception here and it seems to be becoming a common theme, donate and you shall receive.
Newsflash!
Labour gives long overdue assistance to essential local services Coastguard, Surf Lifesaving and Gumboot Friday. Bravo Labour!
Hang on, sorry, I got that wrong. Labour did fuck all for them. But they did help consultants with a billion buck. Good on you Labour.
Don’t expect most of the posters here to acknowledge any good that National do .
They are still bitter about losing the election .
Yes Trevor and whilst I’m not a mean person I do smile at their inability to accept defeat.
What would you know, you’re still breast fed.
Trevor. This is the same English architect of the low-income economy, creating a class of undeserving poor whose various problems create fodder for his algorithms and income for his family.
What does that have to do with shelling out tax payer money to mates? You would have been the first to attack Mathuta. This is English getting paid to generate yet more money for himself.
Correct. And more to come from the cosy family business he set up to cater for it. He has done very well, just like the man said. Bet he’s pleased he’s not a brain surgeon, or plumber, or actuary, or helicopter pilot, or engineer, or cow cocky.
Hold the phone Sour Kraut, what you meant to say was after 50 years National, the mean spirited, the corrupt have given money to one of their donors, you are still a Muppet Krauty.
Maybe they think there are not many votes in first home buyers. Which is wrong.
“You voted for this crony capitalism NZ, don;t you dare pretend you didn’t know what these rich pricks were planning because TDB was very vocal in pointing all of this out before the election!”
Ho, ho, we warned you too. You got the Government you deserved.
All right it’s taxpayers money blah blah blah, but it was half a million fucking dollars! – for what? A couple of weeks work? Jesus Christ I should have been so lucky.
Recipient’s of the Labour Government’s largesse received payments at that level per minute.
