Gaza Strip

Air strikes: Heavy aerial bombardment on buildings, homes and many facilities.

Attacks: All over Gaza, there are air strikes, heavy gunfire, tank and artillery shelling, as well as missiles fired from Israeli forces and military occupation, especially in Khan Yunis. The Israeli Navy continues to fire missiles, targeting facilities and buildings along the shoreline of the whole of Gaza.

Victims: 37 people killed in Gaza brings the total number of deaths since 7 October to at least 34,049. With another 68 wounded, that figurehas risen to 76,901.

Occupying the West Bank since 1967, Israel has distinctly contravened international law. Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention stipulates that “the Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies.” It also prohibits “individual or mass forcible transfers, as well as deportations of protected persons from occupied territory.” Israel, however, has settled about 700,000 Israeli Jews in the West Bank. Once upon a time, there was indeed room for a separate Palestinian state. No more.

Israeli historian Ilan Pappe sees it as “a massive operation of killing, of ethnic cleansing of depopulation.” In a 1979 interview, renowned Israeli dissident, Hebrew University chemistry professor Israel Shahak pointed out that no Holocaust survivor had ever been a member of the Israeli government. Israeli Army attack – pastoral sabotage: Ramallah – 16:35, Israeli Occupation forces stormed al-Mughayir, opening fire with live ammunition towards shepherds grazing flocks, near the eastern entrance to the village.

Israeli Army attack and home invasions in refugee camp 6 dead (including 2 youngsters), 11 wounded: Tulkarem – Since 17:40, 18 April, the Israeli Army has continued to impose its presence in the city as well as the Nour Shams refugee camp, raiding homes and already having shot dead five residents, including two children. Those killed are: Qais Fathi Nasrallah (aged 16), Jihad Niyaz Zindig (age 17), Ahmed Ghaleb Hussein Ali, Muhammad Samer Jaber and Ahmed Khaled Jaber. An elderly infirm person, Hassan Saleh Muhammad Al-Ghuraifi, has also died, as a result of being unable to reach hospital due to obstruction by Israeli forces. In the refugee camp, eleven people were wounded and they are: Omar Yousef Salit, Hajer Jaryan, Laith Issam Asfour, Hamza Musab Gitawi, Saad Khaled Ali, Kamal Muhammad Issa Abu Daghash, Muhammad Kamal Muhammad Abu Daghash, Mutasim Mahmoud Abu Sariya, Ismail Ezzat Jaber, Saad Khaled Ali and Ammar Abdullah Abu Qasidou.

Israeli Army attack – 1 wounded: Qalqiliya – 13:05, Israeli forces, firing live ammunition, stormed into Azzun, wounding a resident: Ahmed Nasr Judeh.

Israeli Army attack – 3 wounded, including 2 youngsters: Nablus – 12:30-15:55, Israeli troops, firing live ammunition, stormed Beita, wounding a 16-year-old youth, Amin Iyad Abdel Ghani, as well as two other people: Uday Muhammad Khudair Tariq Zuhair Dweikat. One other resident was taken prisoner.

Israeli Army attack – 1 wounded: Nablus – 18:15, one person, Moamen Azzam Hanani, was wounded as the Israeli military stormed into Beit Furik.

Israeli Army assault on female journalist: Jerusalem – 11:00, Israeli Occupation forces assaulted the journalist Nadine Jaafar, while she was filming in the Bab al-Amoud district. Another person was taken prisoner.

Israeli Army assault with rubber-coated bullets and stun grenades: Qalqiliya – 12:35, Israeli forces in the village of Kafr Qaddum fired rubber-coated bullets and stun grenades.

Israeli Army abduction of youngster: Jericho – the Israeli Army abducted a 17-year-old youth, Ghazi Shehadeh Youssef Abu Al-Haija, at the southern entrance to Jericho.

Israeli Army assault with rubber-coated bullets and stun grenades: Bethlehem – evening, Israeli troops, fired rubber-coated bullets and stun grenades towards people near the entrance to the village of Husan.

Israeli Army violence – 3 beaten and hospitalised: Bethlehem – 16:30, the Israeli military beat up and hospitalised three people, Muhammad Irshaid, Issa Samir Abu Saadi and Naji Khalil Al-Barq.
