Here comes the crony privatisation capitalism of the NZ Right

Banks, Real Estate Pimps, Industry Deregulation Donors, Trans National Mining interests, Corporate Farmers, Climate Polluters, the Atlas Network and the Landlord Class are the real winners from this Government.

The conga line of crony privatisation capitalism has begun from Trans National Mining interests to privatising local council assets.

Donor interests from Big Tobacco to the Real Estate Pimps are all being looked after while Dr Pork Shane Jones will be given fast track powers as the Government opens up Conservation land for mining…

Seafood industry donors lobby Jones over wine and oysters

Shane Jones has met with leaders of an industry that he’s promised to champion.

Heavyweights of the seafood sector including Moana NZ boss Steve Tarrant, Sealord head Doug Paulin, Talley’s Group chief executive Tony Hazlett, Sanford wildcatch general manager Colin Williams and Seafood NZ lobbyist Dr Jeremy Helson gathered at Eight Plates restaurant in Nelson for the meeting on Tuesday evening.

But some of the attendees like Sealord and Talley’s have previously donated to NZ First election campaigns, so the meeting has raised eyebrows among environmentalists.

Barry Weeber, the co-chair of Environment and Conservations Organisations NZ, said despite requests for meetings with the new minister, they hadn’t received any invitations.

Jones has already come under fire from environmental groups at international fisheries talks this months, after New Zealand backed away from a deal to protect seamounts, while the new minister takes stock.

And he’s harpooned plans for a vast Kermadec marine sanctuary – it’s now sunk as deep as the 10,000 metre ocean trench.

…no one does political pork quite like NZ First whose donors remarkably get what they want…

Big donor’s ask: Minister reviews cameras on fishing boats

key details of the recent donations from Craig Boote, who is the chief executive of fishing company Westfleet: “He says he gave $10,000 to Shane Jones, $10,000 to National’s West Coast candidate Maureen Pugh, and as he recalls, $10,000 to the Act Party. The donations were split between two of his companies, Westfleet and Aimex Hydraulics. Westfleet is 50-50 owned by Boote and Sealord – which previously donated to NZ First.”

Shane Jones met this week with Boote and other fishing bosses for a dinner in Nelson, and Milne reports that the donor wants the Minister of Fisheries to get rid of cameras on fishing boats. Boote is reported saying: “I think they’ve gone overboard and invaded workers’ privacy… It’s going to be very, very difficult for us to recruit young men when they’re gonna get perved on 24/7.” In response, Jones is quoted: “I think the cameras were introduced under the last government without a true conception of the costs… I’m going to take options to Cabinet as to what is the future of the camera regime. What’s the value associated with it as a fisheries management issue and who’s going to pay for it?”

….and look at mining…

NZ needs to get back to drilling and mining, minister Jones says

“Jones didn’t exactly say ‘drill baby drill’ (or ‘dig baby dig’), but the message was clear, it was time to get back to business in the petroleum and mining industries.” And in terms of the challenges of climate change, Jones told the energy and mining bosses: “I’m New Zealand’s number one doubting Thomas about the climate religion and the fact that we have obfuscated the genuine costs of adjustment in our New Zealand economy.”

…the focus on deregulation at the same time National are promising to slash MBIE is no coincident! MBIE policies the little regulation we have, buy slashing inspectors the chance of having the weak regulations enforced are miniscule.

National, NZ First and ACT are transforming the State from an infrastructure that tries to build people up to one that punishes those the right wing voter base despise.

Banks, Real Estate Pimps, Industry Deregulation Donors, Trans National Mining interests, Corporate Farmers, Climate Polluters, the Atlas Network and the Landlord Class are the real winners from this Government.

The ease with which post covid Kiwis have allowed the corrupt right wing political class to game rigged capitalism even further in their favour because everyone hated Jacinda for saving us from 20 000 Covid deaths is depressingly NuZilind of us.

Ain’t it funny how the factories doors close?‘Round the time that the school doors close?‘Round the time that the doors of the jail cellsOpen up to greet you like the reaper?

  1. Some of those fishing industry leaders came across like complete wankers. They have zero concerns over privacy, they just can’t do the right thing when no one is watching. It is that simple.

  2. Water in Auckland to cost an extra 360 a year starting now .Then another 360 a year for each year for ever .so in ten years your water bill will be 3600 more than todays .And credit ratings are heading south for councils .Hamilton will pay an extra 500k interest this year added to rates bill which has just gone up 25% even after the last government gifted them 38 million for new water work .

Crony capitalism became crony capitalism back in 1936 because they came to understand that they, the capitalist cronies, were standing on a gold mine of opportunities to exploit our farmers for free money in an enduring fashion.
When the SS Dunedin arrived in the UK with a shipment of frozen meat a new world was discovered. AO/NZ. A land of opportunity became a land of exploitation and here we are today. Just like that.
    Wikipedia:
The Dunedin was the first ship to successfully transport a full cargo of refrigerated meat from New Zealand to England. In this capacity, it provided the impetus to develop the capacity of New Zealand as a major provider of agricultural exports, notwithstanding its *remoteness from most markets.
But wait? There’s more. That exact same opportunity still exists, nothing has changed. In fact, I’d posit that the future will be with the promise of war, starvation, poverty and hardship, and that’ll be just for the major cities of the world. The future for us AO/NZ’ers can offer up one of either two things. We’ll be swamped by the Israeli’s and their fawning American fan base or we’ll be protected by Aliens soon to be arriving because we’ll be considered a Universe Heritage Planet and as such must be protected. Ask yourselves? Which is the most likely scenario?
Farmers? Are you there? We know you’re there. We all had breakfast this morning. You have a choice. You can either continue to massage the Natzo’s feet as you cringe beneath them or you cannot do that anymore and take your pride and honour back while enjoying a new day, a new dawn. What’s it going to be? A Natzo Bitch with its parasite clones or something a bit different?
    * remoteness from most markets.
That, is AO/NZ’s advantage. Food production is largely seasonal so when Europe and North America’s basking under snow and ice, we can supply then with food. Good food.
I have a neighbour who runs sheep and cattle on 680 acres or 275 hectares. He works his arse off for fuck all.
Most of his fat lambs were rejected for slaughter and he was offered .70cents for his sheep wool and that was a couple of years ago.
I have another neighbour who owns a $ 2.4 million dollar house in fancy urban Auckland. He’s senior management for a larger, foreign owned company. He goes home at 5.30. He arrives at work at 7.30. he drives a new Audi and he produces nothing of value at all at any time of his employment. He is, however, a nice guy.
Do you see where I’m going with this? Do you have more questions than criticisms? Do you have questions to ask and answers you need to listen to? Or are you so well trained by your abusers than all you can do is spout insults and sarcasm while you unwittingly protect those same abusers?
Our farmers relationship with theirs and our political governance is abusive. Farmers? You have to wake up to that before it’s too late for us all.

  4. “I’m New Zealand’s number one doubting Thomas about the climate religion..”

That’s the primary reason I despise Shane Jones. He’s the stupid end of the Dunning Kruger effect personified

  5. policies that work sooooo well in stralia and the uk….yes lets go with a failed policy….cue einstein quote
it’s not about nz or the economy it’s about lining pockets
