Tweedle Dumb and Tweedle Dumber

I have been depressed by the election loss, the damage a Hard Right Government will cause the 600 000 needing food banks monthly, the workers, the renters, the first time home buyers, the marginalised, beneficiaries, the climate and the Working Class, but with Winston’s insane amnesia yesterday and this call by future Police Minister Mark Mitchell that gang members will need to put make up on, suddenly I am full of joy again…

National’s police spokesman says the party may outlaw gang facial tattoos if its planned ban on gang patches does not work.

Mark Mitchell, expected to be the next police minister, told RNZ Checkpoint that gang members with such tattoos will be made to apply foundation when they wake up in the morning or face arrest.

The party is also promising to allow police to search suspected gang members, their vehicles and properties without warrants, and issue dispersal notices banning gang members from talking to one another.

…that’s right, your future Police Minister arguing gang members will need to apply make up to hide their facial tattoos!!!!

This is how fucking insane the next Government are going to be!

Ignore how banning patches is insane and won’t work and will only create the need for a paramilitary police force to beat gang members unconscious to take their patch off them, ignore that, you have no issue with police state over reach against the hated, but even the most fanatical ACT, National and NZ First voter is going to squirm at the sheer fuckwittedness of thinking that Gang members will put make up on to hide their facial tattoos.

It is policy that is even impossible for the  NZ First, National and ACT banjo twanging rednecks to justify.

Watching this level of jaw dropping stupidity is way more fun than I could have ever imagine.

If this is really what the next 3 years will bring, ideas so stupid that even the stupid can’t defend them, I am in heaven!

The only thing that warms the cynical black splinter of what is left of my heart is the thought of Winston, David and Luxon all having to work together.

If that’s ‘winning’, losing don’t feel so bad.

  1. Perhaps the gang members can paint their faces white to suit Mitchells ridiculous idea of using foundation daily or his government could pay for their laser surgery.
This policy has the potential to inflict harm on Māori whanau collectively.
Is Mitchell going to have a dedicated tattoo squad and will our people be subjected to lining up by the tattoo police brigade to check for offensive tattoos. And does this equate to more racial profiling. We are not Western Australia we are our own country with our own indigenous peoples who have a culture deeply rooted in the art and revival of tattoo. We pride ourselves on our race relations with many other countries with indigenous peoples looking to us for guidance this will be a giant step backwards in race relations, social cohesion and Tino Rangatiratanga.

This stupid ill thought our policy has wider implications that will not only start a gang war but a race one.

    • Many thousands will support Māori and gangs in fighting this would be authoritarian bullshit. Make no mistake it is also an attack on Māori Ta Moko and Moko Kauae. Gangs are not everyones thing, but the only people that have caused me any grief in life have been suit wearers and uniform wearers rather than patch wearers!

Cops relentlessly target young Māori people–pulled over for driving while Māori, photographed and DNA tested unlawfully for no immediate reason other than for a database (now increasingly stored in the USA), imprisoned disproportionately, beaten and pepper sprayed disproportionately…a litany of a racist culture and ongoing post colonial fallout.

As Debbie Ngarewa Packer says “lets get tough on poverty”.

      • “Gangs are not everyones thing, but the only people that have caused me any grief in life have been suit wearers and uniform wearers rather than patch wearers!”

        My God, how very true.

  3. Weird shit from a “sell sword” mercenary person i.e. Mr Mitchell. He obviously has authoritarian fantasies at night. The guy is bent as if you read up on his early electoral campaigning, and lets face it NZ Police culture is pretty bent too with the pys-ops interview techniques, use of excessive force, profiling, use of unapproved technology, machoism, sexism and racism.

  4. Roll up, roll up, the new Circus is in town!
Introducing the Ring Master C.M. Luxon in his inaugural role of Master of Ceremony. (Sure he’s inexperienced but he’s cut from the same pompous pinstriped cloth as the last one)
Come watch Mage Nicola mysteriously materialise money from thin air.
Be entertained by Strongman Mitchell single handedly taking down the barabarian hoarde
Laugh as the comical fools Seymour and Winston run rings around the new Master of Ceremony.
    Oh the Spectacle, the Grandeur.
Be quick! One Term only….if that!

  5. May be Suzanne Paul can make a comeback with “natural glow” for gang members. Call it the ‘foundation’ of democracy.

  6. Guess pharmacies will be joining the ramraiders list of targets. All that foundation won’t come cheap.

Does Mitchell have undisclosed shares in cosmetic companies?

    • Tears Tickles Foundation won’t do it, it’ll need an eraser or concealer and they cost a fortune. Mark may have shares in cosmetics, but he could have been joking, or just drunk.

    • David Seymour Lover, you show why ACT supporters are idiots. The Attorney General is a politician appointed by the PM. In your government it would probably be Seymour because he’s a control freak. In Luxons government it will probably be Judith Collins or some other unemployed lawyer. Either way it’s a cluster fuck.

  7. Something like watching the Donald J Trump trainwreck when he and his cronies were in power – we now have the NZ version under Nats/ACT and Winston First

You voted for it – now sit back with your popcorn and watch the show!!!

  8. “National will force Gang Members to apply make up to hide facial tattoos”
Funny as a Mitchell’s phart innit!
It’s about as strupid as Wellington City Council’s policy on parking.
You’d have thunk he’d have grown up by now.
Let it roll and let’s see where it gets us. Hopefully Mitchell is preparing his gorjiss self to volunteer to clean up the aftermath.
Fuck that man is SOOOOOO tuff I’m in awe – even if, led on by his gNat colleagues, he’s a bit fick. Something needs to be done!!!!!

  9. I’d just take their dole off them if they misbehave.
I pine for the community constable sits alongside the WINZ officer and gives them notice of termination.

  10. I find it hard to believe that we taxpayers are paying these NAT politicians 6 figurę salaries, and they propose forcing gang members to wear foundation cream to cover their facial tatoos. How absolutely ridiculous. Who voted for these idiots?

  11. Typical control freak from Mitchell, I have never felt the urge to get a tattoo but I don’t let others’ choice about the matter worry me either. Sometimes they look artistic & sometimes they don’t but as long as the person is happy with them it is not anybody else’s business.

  12. The government trying to put a stamp of authority on the country already? It is surprising, given that there is still lots of unanswered questions regarding the Prime Minister and his Hawaiian holiday, and other blunders that he has made.

    • Those blunders were past history once he was elected we need to watch how the country is brought back for the mess Labour got us into .

      • Trevor – your guide is deluded and hopelessly lost in the dark matters of civilisation. Well, they are dark for your guide..

  13. David Seymour Lover, you show why ACT supporters are idiots. The Attorney General is a politician appointed by the PM. In your government it would probably be Seymour because he’s a control freak. In Luxons government it will probably be Judith Collins or some other unemployed lawyer. Either way it’s a cluster fuck.

  14. Personally in my neighborhood I would rather read the tatts and gang patches than decipher the make up & cover up.
Keep it real….at least you know who you are talking too etc and can be respectful and wary to be keep your personal safety on track.

  15. Poto Williams had it 100% correct when she said “I am well aware that Mark Mitchell would rather be out riding shotgun with the boys”.

  16. First the came for our frocks
Then they came for our voices
    Now they wan’t our cosmetics.
Just go, Mitchell, anywhere, but go.

  17. If anyone needs makeup it is Mitchell’s dear leader Baldrick himself–the reflected shine from his bonce is going to cause sun glasses uptake if he does form a Govt. and the public have to look at him for three years!
