Announce protest actions, general chit chat or give your opinion on issues we haven’t covered for the day.

The Editor doesn’t moderate this blog,  3 volunteers do, they are very lenient to provide you a free speech space but if it’s just deranged abuse or putting words in bloggers mouths to have a pointless argument, we don’t bother publishing.

EDITORS NOTE: – By the way, here’s a list of shit that will get your comment dumped. Sexist language, homophobic language, racist language, anti-muslim hate, transphobic language, Chemtrails, 9/11 truthers, Qanon lunacy, climate deniers, anti-fluoride fanatics, anti-vaxxer lunatics, 5G conspiracy theories, the virus is a bioweapon, some weird bullshit about the UN taking over the world  and ANYONE that links to fucking infowar.

  1. Just thinking. In what way is democracy like the free market and individualism theory?
In that they are strong on free choice and assumptions of perfect understanding of the information on which the decision is made about the choice.

In practice then the idea of democracy that we have adopted with zeal is based on false and unattainable assumptions – there are too many angles for us to have perfect knowledge. even if we zealously apply ourselves to the matter, which we generally don’t – going for the handiest meme. Add neoliberal efficiency and freemarket cheapness, an apparent 360 degree range of choices, and what do you get?
    A. NZ/Aotearoa in the 20th- early 21st century.

Of course that has just passed through my head like a flash. No reason to take any notice – it hasn’t been accepted as rational or scientific by some august body; there has been no elongated commission; no committee of rabid rationalists have concurred or demurred. Is it possible to see things clearly from a different angle in a moment, and be right? Oh look, the Great Panjandrum* Theory has no clothes on.
(*,,, it is a nonsense word coined by British actor and playwright Samuel Foote around 1755.)
