NZ earmarks $20m for climate loss, damage in developing nations
The Government has today announced it’s set aside $20 million in funding to help address loss and damage caused by climate change in developing countries.
Of course we should pay developing countries money for the vast damage the wealthy world has caused from hyper consumerism and free market capitalism, we have generated and led this pollution, we should pay!
The simple truth is we must pay because we are too cowardly to force the changes here in NZ.
Look how in NZ the Corporate Quisling Farmers run NZ politics so much so that the merest hint of them being forced to pay for their own pollution is met with howls of persecution!
Farmers are 1.16% of the population, represent 5.5% of GDP, make 48% of greenhouse gas emissions and create 70% of NZ’s contribution to global warming yet they are able to run roughshod over any legislative reigning in because the Left are more focused on freeing the nipple than challenging the neoliberal hegemonic economic infrastructure.
Radical adaptation and communal community resourcing alongside a Big State approach to lynchpin infrastructure for basic self-reliance as an Island country facing enormous economic shockwaves is the only means to build the muscle mass to respond to the ever intensifying external disruption of late stage capitalism.
While doing that domestically, we have global obligations to our fellow human beings who will face the brunt of climate change damage.

No doubt the financial reporting of banks climate change will also be a white wash without any traceability. The usual pretend, virtue signalling without any real teeth behind it, famous in NZ.
Construction is a big polluter that is out of control in NZ, Construction is now 50% Chinese led in NZ, with exploited, illegal and cash labour. Bets on, the next ‘leaky building’ finding that much steel, concrete etc is all faulty, just like the untreated wood in the 1990’s. Oh what a surprise that allowing illegal practise and corruption will not bring us good outcomes.

FFS, yes farmers are only a tiny portion of the population but WTF do urban idiots think this country does to make money overseas? The whole of Wellington would suffer economic collapse if the farmers said, “Too hard”, and let forestry carbon credits take over. How incidentally are those credits paid for? Probably from the 20% of livestock we are being encouraged to lose.
I don’t have any great affinity with the agricultural sector but if the muddle class effete Tesla drivers want to keep the latte cafes open it might help if they understood that we live from working alongside / with farmers so that they can produce and export and make money.
Cow pollution affects New Zealanders not those overseas. And to give money to someone for being climate mean to them is ridiculous. What the Woke greens are saying is that NZ, who is responsible for about one thousandth of global emissions, is therefore responsible (if it can even be proven) for a thousandth of a millimetre sea level rise in the last decade. And let’s get this straight, NZ sends a representative on a plane to talk to other virtuous plane riders about the climate, at a corporate sponsored conference, and then the representative comes back to NZ to lecture the average citizen on how to live? Get lost. This is political not scientific: splashing the cash, being virtuous, and looking to be doing something about pollutants without doing anything about pollutants (the real threat to ecology and humanity – along with nutcase warmongers). It’s a carbon exchange program for the rich and the climate boogeyman for the rest of us, complete with the biblical end time flood for effect.
