David Seymour bitching about the cost of a public holiday for the Queen’s death once agains shows ACT up as the Party who knows the cost of everything and the value of nothing.
Sometimes the cost isn’t the issue, knowing when those moments are highlights your values and true character.
While we are discussing ACT, can we just reflect on the freedom party advocating for ankle bracelets on 11 year olds?
How politically Ghoulish is it for the State to intrude into the life of a child with such Orewllian overkill?
A- Very Politically Ghoulish
B – Exceptionally Politically Ghoulish
or C – Oh God, David Seymour is a Ghoul and he’s eating my face level political Ghoulishness?
Criminalising kids, eradicating Māori, Women, Pacifica, Youth and Ethnic Community political voice, starting a race war and trying to shortchange Nanas funeral.
That’s what you are getting when you vote ACT.
Let’s not pretend otherwise.
Increasingly having independent opinion in a mainstream media environment which mostly echo one another has become more important than ever, so if you value having an independent voice – please donate here.

Imagine having rimmer as your employer, or worse, your PM one day. Uggggghhhh!
I’m a retired pensioner and I’ll be off overseas if Act get any where close to having a say. All I could hope for is that the Wellington gnomes fuck him around like they have with Jacinda and he can’t get anything done.
He looks a little pasty or should we just call him” Off White”
National have a lot to answer for when you consider that ACTs rising popularity is entirely built on National’s decomposing carcass.
Has he had a root yet–or still too busy twerking at the gym with the other incels?
Excuse my crudity, but Mr Seymour was gifted Epsom by the natzos, and by chance caught the internet/Trumper wave. He is no political exemplar, more a populist and opportunist with a nasty agenda indeed.
I am English and a fan of the monarchy but feel it is an unnecessary to have a holiday. We have just had an extra public holiday created which would not have been factored in to this year’s accounts now businesses have another expense.
Tell the Australians, once they decided to have a special public holiday for the Queen’s death it was inevitable that NZ would do the same.
A one off holiday not to be repeated , and in certain industries they will welcome the chance to make extra revenue from a long weekend. Guess it depends how you view it
Bad luck if your hip replacement was scheduled for the 26th. Hospitals are so stretched it will be weeks if not months before you get another slot.
Well you can thank the queen for that.
The most interesting observation is the most vociferous proponents of the “holiday” are people whose views align with republicans.
Funny how everyone wants to grieve for an individual they have never met and whose actions didn’t effect their daily lives.
Could it just be they want another holiday?
What kind of holiday is it going to be. Good Friday everything closed except essential services holiday or 50% off everything at Briscoes holiday.
Not so much the direct cost of another public imposed upon employers but more the indirect costs it imposes upon the people. One wonders how many elective surgeries have been postponed re-booked, how many rosters in our public services such as hospitals, police, Ambulance etc have to be re-jigged. David Seymour maybe a slime ball, but at least he’s a pragmatist.
You want to mourn the Queen? Take a day’s leave!
