NZ Police haven’t heard NWA?

Jesus wept, how much money did this cost?

The police, an offensive flag, and a new gang chapter’s racially charged name

In May, officers obtained a warrant and seized the flag. Bak was summonsed to appear in Blenheim District Court on June 1. Police hoped to be able to charge him with possession of an objectionable publication.

If the NZ Police are spending so much time on a Black Power Flag with the N word on it, wait until they hear about a band called NWA…

…why are the NZ Police trying to restrict free speech?

Again, how much money have they spent on trying to censor people using a word they have taken offence by?

Sure, if it was a white nationalist movement using the word, you can understand the offence, but this is Black Power and Black Culture have spent a considerable amount of energy on reclaiming that word from white slavers.

This is reminiscent of when the NZ Police arrested Tiki Tane for singing Fuck the Police.

The Police shouldn’t be telling Kiwis what they can and can’t say if there isn’t a clear link to incitement and violence, that they thought they could spend so much money fighting a flag is an extraordinary insight into how they are wasting resources while actual crime goes un-investigated.

  1. When I read the BP’s had claimed the “N” word for a subgroup of their club, I laughed because it was so moronic but yet meant to be staunch or macho or by something deep and meaningful.

Everyone knows these retards are trying to be bad arses, but in an infantile manner. The N word in this context is not offensive, just stupid.

Look at it this way, as the Greens reclaimed the “C” word, their greatest achievement to date, these pussycats have reclaimed the “N” word. Good enough for a woke political party, good enough for some gangstas!

But obviously the police are trying to bring any pressure to bear on these guys this cleanse the town of them!

  2. A motorcycle flag purchased in the USA with a collection of other flags, placed in a garage with a collection of motorcycles and motorcycle memorabilia was torn down and presented by NZ police to the NZ courts as a symbol of white supremacy in 2019. A motorcycle flag with the words “southern choppers” displayed in a private garage above ground – a garage police lied to the courts about and claimed was a buried underground bunker that their lying “ racist” informant had claimed existed. A flag. The $$$$$$ costs to the NZ public as police raided our home five times, sent armed police in helicopters chasing shadows and disinformation. Police ignored the many other flags in the same garage that represented our nation, pakeha and maori flags, maori independence flags, other nations flags. What about the many Music posters celebrating black musicians? What about the poster of Mohammed Ali knocking out George Forman? Clearly white supremacist evidence and anti Muslim hate speech. Police even failed to photograph the wall in my garage in celebration of my 11 years in the NZ police ( when we used to catch criminals ) as they cherry picked evidence to suit a narrative. Confirmation bias and prejudice as they acted on LIES and FALSE ACCUSATIONS. We cant allow this to continue in NZ.

    • The Stars and Bars featured on that ‘Southern Choppers’ flag represent the pride of Southerners and the hundreds of thousands of brave men who died trying to keep their people safe from America.

The filthy American rag represents the murders of tens of millions of human beings by Americans in the last couple centuries alone, by bayonet, by rape, by nuclear bomb. Odd that Police don’t come after those who fly the actually offensive on, isn’t it?

      • ” the hundreds of thousands of brave men who died trying to keep their people safe from America.”

What absolute bollocks. Those southerners wanted to leave the union so they could keep their slaves (which was financially beneficial).

    • sorry for your trouble nick it’s what happens when you employ thick arrogant cops(same in US and UK) who probably wouldn’t recognise mohammed ali if he bit them on the bum…the problem is a lack of sophistication coupled with monumental arrogance not a good mix.

  3. Hah, hah- when I read the part of the article where the utterly corrupt Race Relations Commissioner Meng Foon weighed in with the woke Police against the chapter, I briefly confused him with fellow East Coast boy Harry Tam and thought “the Mob is shutting down Black Power? That’s not on, is it?”

I apologize to Mr. Tam. He would never participate in vile nonsense like this.

  4. These BP are gaslighters and the use of the ‘N’ word is IMO an attempt to look mean & intimidating even the pictures you’ve posted show what type of people and values they aspire too. This is also similar to the ‘Mongrel Mob’ that uses a British bulldog wearing a German helmet and SS insignia Nazi swath sticker embroidered in their patches that uses the words ‘Seig Fucken Heil’ as a salute to their peers and anything else that they vent their anger and frustrations out usually with precarious results. The leaders of these groups may have limited education but they’re not dumb! They have social skills on how to manipulate their own and its these individuals that pay the price of being their associates not the snowflakes that moan from afar. “Free Speech” is one of the virtues of a ‘Liberal Democracy’ even in ‘Apartheid Israel’ (excuse the pun) a beacon of the only liberal democracy in the M.E lauded by the west has its limits. Flying a Palestinian flag around Jerusalem will either get you harrased, arrested or murdered. Liberal Democracies are on a decline globally maybe we are seeing the same in our NZ/AO?

  5. Yet again we see Police taking actions based on having proceeded as moral arbiters, in this case deciding what is objectionable however the material in question subsequently failed the legal test to be classified as such.
POLICE ARE NOT THE MORAL ARBITERS OF OUR SOCIETY.
The role of Police is to uphold the law.
There is a very clear imperative of impartiality in undertaking investigation of any allegations.
As long as there is no effective oversight of Police this culture of false moral authority will continue uninterrupted, growing in audacity and scope until we will find ourselves in a police state.

  6. What gets me is that they dont have a mandate to do this. At the current time, we do not have hate speech laws and being offensive is not a crime. Which is why they tried to get this through under some legislation targeting ‘obscene publications??’ and it got thrown out because it was laughable.

More concerning to me was the early 2021 shutdown of the K Road preacher. He’s a religious nutjob doing his thing on K Road as he has for 30 years and the Trans lobby and similar decide to take him on. He gets harangued back (probably with far more vitriol than his assertions of “You are going to hell because ,,, if you dont repent”) and they call the police claiming what he is saying is hate speech. Police come out, take the guy to the Station tell him, he is peddling hate speech and its not allowed and is then let go.

WTF? The wrongs and the rights are irrelevant. The police came out and dragged him down the station and had the audacity to tell him he couldnt be doing what he was doing because its hate speech. We do not have a law stopping people from speaking on street corners and spouting rhetoric. I doubt his speech was designed to incite violence and its highly unlikely he was espousing violence.

Compare this with Martin Devlin being nearly killed at the hands of a card carrying nutter a few weeks back. Despite everything needed to make an arrest and witness details to boot, the police did not respond or investigate as far as we know. They are also not attending break ins or ram raids but apparently, they have a closet mandate to shut down speech or expression if they dont like it.

Just plain wrong and in fact on some level corrupt.

  7. >Sure, if it was a white nationalist movement using the word, you can understand the offence, but this is Black Power and Black Culture have spent a considerable amount of energy on reclaiming that word from white slavers.

The slavers were as white as the cast of Friends, the board of CNN, or Pfizer. Down to the owners of ever last slave ship.

    • but truth are they african/americans no they’re not they’re foreigners using what is considered very offensive outside it’s context…cultural appropriation and disrespect from maori who claim to know better…

ps jamaica would like reggae back please.

  8. What’s with flags in NZ? Helen Clark went spare because someone set a NZ flag on fire as a protest. Piece of cloth with a design ion it – it’s symbolic like so much of our lives. We might never strike anyone in anger but that is an understandable and manly thing to do, but desecrate a flag….What’s the wold coming to we wonder? And so we should.

  9. “The Police shouldn’t be telling Kiwis what they can and can’t say ”

Yet you have already bought into someone or something dictating to you the same practise:

‘…the NZ Police are spending so much time on a Black Power Flag with the N word on it,… ”

Euphemism by disguising the spelling, where letters are blocked out of a word or replaced with other characters, is simply ridiculous. Every reader immediately translates them in their minds anyway, as they are supposed to – if they don’t do that the euphemism doesn’t communicate anything at all.

Use the relevant word or don’t use it at all. Simple. Honest. Can we just quit with the sleight of hand which is euphemism by spelling.
