MEDIAWATCH: The Media are the biggest problem in this Parliament protest

Trevor fucked up, and the mainstream media cowering behind him for protection will not criticise him for his fuck up or the myriad of childish and spiteful tricks he's playing that is only provoking things more.

In his latest column, Marc Daalder sums up all that is wrong with the mainstream media coverage of the Parliament protest.

Yes, the factions that have been promoting this lunacy are powerful and backed by extremist American Dark money, but this entire fiasco was falling over on Wednesday night, Marc even acknowledges that the largest faction leader had left on Thursday morning.

Yet he covers off the moment Trev threw a tantrum and sent in the cops that radicalised this event as a one sentence throw away!

As police began pushing onto Parliament grounds in an effort to remove tents at around 8:30am, Counterspin agitators called for protesters to form a human barrier against the officers. The official convoy organisers blared in all caps on their Telegram channel “EVERYONE NOW PLEASE WALK AWAY BACK TO THE ROAD”. Instead, the protesters pushed back and the arrests started.

I’m sorry, “As police began pushing onto Parliament grounds in an effort to remove tents at around 8:30am”, you meant to say, when Trev threw a tantrum and put out a 10 hour live streamed recruitment video of Police smacking down a protest that saw a naked woman dragged out by her hair, arresting 120 who are now martyrs to the cause’?

Is that what you meant to write Marc?

Because I’m not sure if you noticed, but that act of stupidity has been incredibly fucking counter productive hasn’t it Marc?

Daalder epitomises the Nietzsche quote, “Beware that, when fighting monsters, you yourself do not become a monster… for when you gaze long into the abyss. The abyss gazes also into you”, Marc see’s White Supremacist Nazi’s evertytime he closes his eyes.

He, like all mainstream media,  can not see that it was Trevor’s decision to try and force these lunatics off the Lawn that actually empowered and recruited people to this madness!

Sure there is American Dark Money involved here.

I’ve been making that argument since they interfered in the cannabis referendum, but Trevor is providing the fucking ammunition for those Steve Bannon and Qanon lunatics to recruit even more to the cause!

Remember, this was going to fall over on Thursday morning right up until Trev started bashing heads and arresting people.

I note none of the journalism outlets taking Government money have criticised Trevors spectacular cluster fuck – is this investigative journalism is it?

  1. If there is one thing the protestors want more than anything at this point is a stage. They have that big time in Wellington.

    Assuming the protestors would all pack up and piss off when the weather turned to shit was a blunder. The total opposite is in play. If a protestor stands their ground (mud) during a storm they will almost certainly see that is adding weight to their cause. AKA a “victory”.

    The media being there filming and interviewing the protestors as if they were celebrities has given their cause oxygen. Another epic blunder. Film it as it occurred at the start was totally understandable and appropriate. What’s unfolded since is not.

    The media are the first to tell you they won’t make details public in certain events as they know that only encourages more of the same. Pity they have lost their compass with this event.

    • At least you call them protesters, so respect for that. Otherwise the media knows which side they are on and their coverage, thus far, has borne this out – nothing favorable is going to fall the way of the people.

    I’ve never heard of Alp, but reading Fishers piece and understanding his leanings it reads more like a political hit job. Maybe Trev wrote it for him. It seems if you disagree with the govt you must be a right winger. A white supremacist, an antivaxer a Trump supporter and so on.
    It’s quite possible Alp is all of this, but what I really hate is all this money going to MSM and the very obvious fishhooks which come with it.
    Mallard just reinforces what worries many of us.

It’s the media’s ongoing description of the protestors as “right wingers” or “far right” or “anti vaxers” which is plainly rubbish. Of corse there are some there like Alps. Given that the Wellington District Police Commander has stated that Mallard’s use of sprinklers and loud music is not a tactic that the police would endorse, suggests that Mallard is a big obstacle. I don’t know where Poto Williams stands on this, but Mallard using tactics not recommended by the police, can be construed as him interfering in police operational processes – and then expecting the police to mop up his messes.

            The fact that Mallard says he dialogued with the occupiers of an exclusive apartment block without having attempted to talk with the protestors is bad, they could have been invited to talk, away from the public gaze. The fact that he spoke with exclusive apartment dwellers without disclosing his plans to the police, is equally bad, if not worse.

            The situation evolved to where politicians and police have both been threatened with execution by some protestors, and this situation was not brought about by the police, and it could have been averted.

        My understanding of ‘dark money’ is that it travels invisibly past local and international tax systems etc then can be loaded into shell companies in tax havens like the Cook Islands ( Are the Cook Islands still a tax haven? ) and Panama etc and from there dark money can be drawn upon and spent.

    • The evidence is usually referred to as being Counterspin Media. It has been promoting and has lately been doing a lot of coordinating of the protest.

      Counterspin is on the GETTR platform, which was set up and funded by Trump associates such as Steve Bannon. Also I have found that the Canadian right wing platform is featuring Counterspin stuff about the NZ parliament protests. Rumble is a right wing Canadian platform, which I think is also featuring the current Canadian protests.

      I also see that Counterspin Media’s You Tube channel has some very anti-feminist content.

Either one of them could have done with a push from this big-moneyed financed media outfit. You have got to wonder why this outfit took its time setting up in NZ given the pandemic has been around for near two years now.

          The article also refers to a research paper that showed a big increase in anti-vax material in NZ beginning last August.

          “The researchers said the disinformation was “being used as a kind of Trojan horse” to coax New Zealanders from vaccine hesitancy to vaccine resistance and then to the embrace of far-right ideologies, like white supremacy and extreme misogyny. Some of the most extreme content, they said, comes from overseas, particularly Australia and the U.S.”

    Re: letter of Demand from the NZ people

    We refer to matters of great importance to the people of New Zealand community. We hereby provide the Honourable members with a list of demands that we seek to have addressed by the Honourable members. These issues must be heard and acted upon. The Covid-19 matter has divided our nation and it is now time we the people are afforded
    the opportunity to heal.

    The list of demands as enunciated below represent the key issues we the people believe will move this towards resolution.

    In summary these issues are:
    • End all Covid –Vaccine Mandates.

    • End all restrictive Traffic light systems and ensure the nation as a whole remains open, allowing trade commerce and travel to be absolutely free.

    Add to that, what do those who are protesting and / or supportive of the protesters think when they see the clearly biased narrative being rammed down NZ’s collective throat?

    Wellington is playing this as they would have before things like live streaming and things going viral globally in minutes. It’s the wrong approach and will ultimately fail.

We, all of us, are enduring an age of neoliberal capitalism and that means our main stream media, or the pretence of what we like to think of as, and the state funded media is by default neoliberal-capitalist inclined. The MSM’s modus operandi is money baby and while we have neoliberalism, which I refer to as capitalist-communist-fascism, we’ll have a news media which will always ask the money first before it asks humanity.
    The people on Parliaments lawns are human beings deeply concerned about those things which concern them deeply. mallard turns the sprinklers on them, that’s his level of solemn respect for The People rightfully wanting to know what the fuck’s going on. Meanwhile, neoliberal-capitalism turns its back on them and instead focuses on the money.
    Our democracy must be purged of the swindling parasite that’s neoliberalism. That’s what the people on the lawn should be focusing on. The reason they’re not is because, in my humble opinion, they’re being manipulated by hidden forces within the group to make it appear as though they’re winning while championing righteous cause while in fact they’re losing with every breath they take. After all? What are they achieving? Temporary inconvenience to those others who use that lawn? Seagulls? Sparrows? The odd shambling homeless person? Spleens are vented and nothing’s achieved because it costs nothing to have angry people sitting on a lawn being made to look like fools by an all bought and paid for MSM.
    That’s why AO/NZ’s not yet brainwashed protestors must woo the farmer. Our dear old Fred Dagg’s have ultimate power because they, our farmers, are our primary industry and remember? Neoliberal- capitalism is alllllll about the money.
    I see by a recent email that that just came my way that Dark Forces are at work amongst the crowd on the lawns of Wellington. ‘ Ag Action Gatherings’ calling me to arms in so many words. Who the fuck are Ag Action Gatherings? We’re they not also known as ‘Ground Swell’ ? Their email reads like a fundamentalist U$A white christian lynch mob trying to write an essay in crayon. They’re all about FREEDOM fighters standing strong and what about the children etc, blah blah blah.
    That, right there, stinks of a stack of logical fallacies leaning against a stack of bibles. They’ll lead you to disarray and social damnation. They only thing you’ll get out of following crackpot God botherers slavering behind deep state Machiavellian Confederates is haemorrhoids, humiliations and grass stains on your whites.

    From Mallard doing absolutely, saying absolutely nothing to copying Trump’s Lafayette Square, teargas, rubber bullets, batons, bashings there was a bit of scope.

    “Yes, nice to meet you. Some might agree with you that Jacinda Ardern should not be Prime Minister and her party should not be the Government. However, that is the result of the system we have. Thanks for coming.”

    “Yes, nice to meet you. You think there is a secret cabal trying to take over the world and control people and the vaccines are part of that? We will investigate, thanks for coming.”

    And everyone goes home happy.

Why did media protect Maureen Pugh – it was left to Ryan Bridge to ask Simon Bridges if that was the reason he her called her “f……n useless”. Many of the media are within the 1% in terms of income, and their career paths is to work in Public Relations, especially Governmental Departments…they (Media) simply will not call out the Government over the protests…TV1 went as far as bringing on an misinformation expert to frame the protesters as mindless…

    I do not believe now Labour will win in 2023.

So Jacinda and Mallard are responsible for secretly promoting the protest so it distracts from the low unemployment rate.     Seymour is insanely envious of Trevor ducky, because Trev has that knack of being Kiwi-as without a second thought. Seymour, with his loud claims of being “marry” (gotta find that gene somewhere when it’s needed), can’t even dance without making a tool of himself. Ducky just does what comes naturally, and for many Kiwis, that’s okay.
