Protest convoy heading to Wellington

Police are monitoring Covid-19 protest convoys heading towards Wellington from both ends of New Zealand.

A spokesperson said they are not following the convoy, but are watching out for any issues using CCTV and units already on the ground.

All kinds of motor vehicles from trucks to cars and campervans are travelling the length of the country to meet in Wellington in protest against Covid-19 vaccine rules and public health measures.

“We are fighting for New Zealand’s freedom,” read a poster on the Convoy 2022 NZ Facebook page.

Not only were social media groups infiltrated, but a Spotify playlist the convoy organisers made for others to add “good tunes to drive to” was taken over by people who opposed the protesters.

“Some people are adding some really disgusting music (don’t think you can call it music). I’m guessing [it’s] people that don’t agree with the convoy because they have nothing better to do,” one person said.

Songs that were added by those opposing the convoy included ‘Redneck Piece of White Trash’ by Rebel Son, ‘Why Don’t You Get A Job’ by The Offspring, and ‘Dumb F**k’ by Peaches.

…these people voted for Billy TK, they believe Trump had the election stolen and they are by attacking the health mandates effectively on the side of the virus. They are attempting the same soft coup Canadian Truckers are invoking in Canada and the stench of American dark money runs throughout this.

What is becoming rapidly apparent with the Qanon lunatic anti Vaxxer fringe movement in NZ is that the same dark money from the American Christian Right is being used to support it.  With America pivoting to the Pacific, are we seeing the same CIA dirty tricks they played in South America in the 70s to destabilize and prop up authoritarian regimes or is this dark money a cultural mutation from Steve Bannon’s America?

There needs to be as much attention on America’s influence in our politics as there is on China’s influence.

The radicalization of the unvaccinated will reach fever pitch as the economic ramifications of being sacked from a job for refusing the vaccine starts to bite deeply and we are seeing that with these lunatics.

‘Kiwis supporting the virus’ is the sort of plague that doesn’t have a cure.

      In NZ they cried out for “Freedom’ during the lockdowns like they were William Wallace as he was executed in August 1305 @ Smithfield, London.

Pfizer are greedy and manipulative and they have nancy pelosi in their pocket but that doesn’t also mean their vaccine isn’t up to the job.
    Personally, I embarked on my own research and weighed that against what I learned and what I was being force fed by the clearly Big Pharma corrupted msm.
    My conclusion was to be vaccinated. After I rose above the hyperbole , the liars lies, the profiteering agendas of Big Pharma and the echo chamber brainfartery of the ghost with evil intentions that’s the msm I realised that the virus and it’s sure to be on-going mutations is here to stay.
    I don’t want to get sick. I don’t want to get sick and die. I don’t want to get sick then stay sick for months, possibly years. I don’t want that. I also don’t want our politicians. I don’t trust them. I don’t like them either individually or collectively.
    I hate the thought of my tax money going into their pockets when they can look out their beautiful, air conditioned offices and see cold, hungry, lonely, homeless people begging for change in an EFTPOS world.
    Can I ask a serious question? Why does the anti vaxx movement have a ‘Ground Swell’ smell about it? Are luxon and seymour being very naughty little men do you think?

          There appears to be a concerted effort by groups representing the anti-government, or anti-democracy to bring these disaffected and disparate “hater” groups together, to swell the numbers and to amplify anti-government sentiment.

          Just as National at its Queenstown conference called in British Tories and born-to-rule types, so the dirty politics underbelly are slithering and slinking around the MAGA haters and US’s equivalent of Cam Slater, Steve Bannon.   8. Hate to tell ya…but the covid narrative is falling apart WORLDWIDE. Many countries have dropped the mandates, and opened up. NZ is far behind the times, and Ardern hasn’t “saved any lives.” So wake up people – time to take the country back.

              A major factor is due to concerns for our hospital and healthcare systems, you numpty.

              Don’t go wetting your pants or stamping your feet with impatience, the country will cautiously open up over the next year, hopefully with a reasonably controlled levels of infection, kept to manageable levels.

              Our strategy has been incredibly successful thus far, even if measured by the simple index that the first full nationwide serious wave of infection will be by Omicon and not Delta or more dangerous strains.

      • South Africa, England, France, Ireland, Norway, Denmark, parts of the USA and some in Canada so far have all taken steps to end or at least loosen their Covid restrictions. In some areas these easings come even though new case numbers remain near their highs as their governments feel the worst of the pandemic is behind them.

        • A bit simplistic to say “easing”. France are easing audience limits and mask wearing…..because of the vaccine pass system. No vax pass no entry.

          Between vaccinations and exposure through infection some of these countries will be in a different position to us. Lots of dead people ( US 900k Ireland well north of 5k) must have given them some options.

Doctors in NZ who a worried about side effect from the ‘jabs’ and have asked questions are loosing their jobs.   13. The anti vaxxers are becoming very frightened now because Omicron is on the rampage and a large percentage of them will become very sick indeed. This is a big reason why they are putting on such a performance with this convoy. A way of venting their fear by being abusive and macho. The death stats overseas are not pretty and people can become very ill with Omicron if they haven’t had vaccines for immunity. Even deluded as they are they cannot deny the human toll this disease has wrought upon the unfortunates who have died or been seriously ill with long covid for a lot of them. Poor delusioned people, if they weren’t so obnoxious one could feel pity for them.

                BTW, please provide an example of non-observable evidence.

      • With 90% vaccinated there needs to be over 90% more vaccinated people dying for the vaccine to be a higher risk. Assuming a population of 100 with 10 people dying of covid & 7 of them vaxxed then the risk of a vaxxed person dying is 7/90 or 7.78%, the risk of an unvaccinated person dying is 3/10 or 30%. If you can’t work out what that means it could go some way to explaining your irrational beliefs.

  14. The overaching point here is freedom of choice. Those who wish not to be vaccinated scream that somehow this freedom is not available to them, a position that is manifestly incorrect.
    Everyone is free to make a choice in the matter of vaccination. What these people seem to be wanting (at least in my view) is to have freedom from the consequences arising from their choice. This is a poor position to adopt as these consequences are well known, having been clearly and repeatedly communicated. So I say protest as much as you like on freedom of choice and enjoy my support of your right to so,but do not expect that choice to be free of consequence.
    The “freedom” to make any choice without consequence is not freedom at all, it is FREEDUMB. Or anarchy.
    We have a social contract that allows dissent and choice, as participants in this we must accept CONSEQUENCE arising from choice.

    The “Happenings & Grapevine in Kaitaia & Far North” community FB group with 20,000 members (obviously some out of area) put up the Anti Vaccination “Convoy” event poster. Now this petrol guzzling event proclaims it stands for free speech and democratic rights.

    But, the admin of the page Toni Burren, blocked comments on the issue. Us pro vaccination people could not debate the alleged freedom fighters on the local community online noticeboard! This page is notorious for being pro Nat and religious nutter along side the events and lost dogs, while proclaiming neutrality.

    • After Steve Bannon got his marching orders from the White House in 2017/18 he spent many months on the road in Europe and elsewhere specifically setting up such covert right wing advocacy networks. The networks and their funding are in themselves nebulous but Bannon was quite open in interviews that this was what he was doing.
