MEDIA WATCH: The Woke scream hatred at transphobic chocolate – how is this a news story?

Sigh.

The Woke be alienating again, this time over bloody chocolate…

Chocolate maker Whittaker’s faces backlash over its take on the baby gender reveal
Whittaker’s latest chocolate block has been criticised for erasing people in the rainbow community and promoting “antiquated” gender stereotypes.

The new Coconut Ice Surprise blocks, made to support Plunket, come in blue or pink, and customers find out which colour they’ve received when they open the block. The product is a take on baby gender reveal parties, which have become popular in New Zealand and worldwide.

Several people criticised the campaign on social media as erasing intersex, transgender, gender non-binary and gender-fluid people.

…’Several people criticised the campaign on social media’ – the moment when journalism died folks.

How come woke outrage olympics on twitter is news?

Is it wrong that I want to buy two blocks of this chocolate and take a photo to post on Twitter to specifically annoy these people? Has ActionStation started a petition yet?

If someone as liberal and progressive as me is rolling my eyes at this, what the hell is middle NZ thinking?

It’s as if Pink for Girls and Blue for Boys is on par with a hate crime, when we have global warming engulfing the planet, I find attention on this difficult to justify.

This is why progressives have such a struggle selling our narrative, we disappear up our own arseholes for identity politics  and then can’t work out why we come across as utterly alienating to the voters at election time.

I fear the woke would claim this image below was actually heteronormative patriarchal sexual assault and demand he be arrested…

…this is who we are now.

How come this weird Millennial puritanism feels like a noose and not liberation?

  1. yeah, i agree really, but they walked into that one…buying yellow stuff has been the safe thing for new babies since the 60’s. They shoulda thunk of that and then seemed ‘edgy’ and ‘inclusive’. Like Spark.

you know the battle is won when corporate’s start advertising their products with a social movement.

Now maybe we can get down to the real battle…financial equality, social mobility and an economy for the people. All people.

    Just saying.

  2. Pathetic!

That particular chocolate was put out to help raise funds for Plunket. Well done Whittakers. And Plunket does what? That’s right it works with babies and mothers.

Are babies not to be genderised now?

Ironically the sailor kissing the young woman after the conclusion of WWII in NY’s Time Square, died only recently. The same image has been immortalized in the form of a statue.

  3. True Progressives – who actually want to make real changes within society – should be utterly furious at the SJW’s. Many centrist liberals and conservatives – and some true progressives – have become (possibly strange) bedfellows as a result of the hateful tactics of the far Left. Anyone whoss value nuanced, respectful conversations about certain topics, who value free speech and the pursuit of truth, and can still retain a sense of humour, should think about a coalition. Those who keep calling people racist/sexist/ableist/fattist, bigoted, and whatever -phobic they can pull out of their pink pu$$y hats – it’s not a way to make friends and influence people, and has hit saturation as a tactic. It has become as racist as the far Right, as “religious” as the Evangelical Right. If you think that it’s not backfiring, look at the deleterious effect on basic freedoms that the regressive, authoritarian Left is having in countries where it is more firmly entrenched than in NZ, and against which the backlash has been slowly underway (the Trump effect, Brexit, burgeoning of the IDW, alt-media and alt-tech…).
Anyway – I really wanted to comment because “the Kissing Sailor”, George Mendonsa, passed away on the 17th. On the next day, a Florida statue depicting the iconic moment was defaced with “MeToo” graffiti…
