New Government pick up TDB suggestion on Journalism in the Pacific

TDB has argued that two of the ways we combat Chinese influence in the Pacific is supporting Journalism and using Rugby diplomacy.

We are pleased one of those ideas has been taken up with the announcement of the new Pacific Cooperation Broadcasting service…

NZ to help fund dedicated Pacific TV channel
New Zealand’s government will spend $US6.6 million in the next three years on a dedicated TV channel for the Pacific.

The Pacific Cooperation Broadcasting service would be expanded to include a dedicated channel with New Zealand content.

…the reason why Journalism and the promotion of Journalistic values are so important in the Pacific is because of the unparalleled corruption of many Pacific States and the Orwellian censorship of Chinese interests.

By promoting Journalism, we empower Pacific people with the tools to counter the corruption of their own Political systems while exposing Chinese influence.

If we add Rugby Diplomacy to our diplomatic arsenal, this new Government will have mangled to counter Chinese influence in less than year than National managed in almost  decade.

  1. Well,… the Nats are out and the coalitions in.

    Things couldn’t be better. And I suspect much of the furore among the Nats comes from bodies such as the Blue Dragons.

    And that’s what you get when you try and play around with another sovereign country’s government. You get your arse kicked. And BTW,… you can get rid of that Chinese spy you have in your party , National.

    Not appreciated at all.

    The guy needs to take a hike. Back to China.

  2. Jacinda’s current problems are arising from her lack of instructing all her Ministers to act in a open “inclusive manner” toward all her voters and the public as she promised to be a Government that is;
    quote; Warm, gentle, considerate, inclusive ‘will give everyone a voice to be heard and considered.’
    We in HB have asked Phil Twyford to come to Napier to meet our committee about the heavy truck noise vibration and air pollution impacting on many residential areas in our City but after repeated 9 months of written requests to the minister and his PA and now from our local labour MP Stuart Nash this “Minister of transport” has still refused to come here to meet with us or even personally respond to our request for a meeting with him by his own email without a beaurocratic staffer answering saying “the minister is to busy to come”.
    We do not want any more of those responses from his PA or secretarial staff as that is insulting to us all.
    Front up Phil Twyford or face the grilling you deserve.
