Cafe Review: Chloe Swarbrick’s new ‘Olly’

Let’s be honest, 2016 has been a shit year. Some of the most brilliant artists, musicians and actors have died while John Key, Brexit and Trump succeed.

We better get a lot of dead talentless bigots in 2017 if we want to balance things out.

One of the few rays of sunshine this year however was Chloe Swarbrick. Her intelligence, vision and ability to articulate that sincerely  made many feel that we were finally seeing some formation of a future leader of Labour – until the Greens stole her instead.

On top of her amazing run for Mayor, Swarbrick appeared on Q+A,  built a strong social media following and has this week  opened a cafe with her friends.

‘Olly’ is next to the Crystal Palace on Mt Eden road and just around the corner from me, and has quickly become my favourite local. Creamy coffee, artisan doughnuts and art – what’s more to love?

Based on their packed Friday night Art event last night, Olly will quickly become the next hotspot and with the election looming next year, expect to see Chloe there a lot.

Well worth a visit
