  1. I went onto a forum that has a raging debate about how the US is going to “come together” since the election.

    The discussion quickly dissolved into character assassination mainly among the US members.

    I put forward the argument that the US media pandered to BOTH parties when expressing their opinions and that the “corrupt media” was a reflex to a presidential nominee that put forward very likeable but possibly unrealistic ideas, relating to increasing tariffs bringing jobs back, to a sector of the population that has had any chance of gaining a step up in the country removed.
    My argument drew a muted response from the most ardent trump supporters as the reality of his inability to do anything to close the gap slowly dawned.

    I suspect that no-one on that forum makes an effort to read Democracy Now or The Intercept or is familiar with John Pilger’s work or even knows who Noam Chomsky is
