Last week an All Black having a sex romp in a toilet eclipsed one of our MPs being kidnapped in international waters by an Apartheid Israel and it eclipsed the fact that SERCO had lied and covered up reports of violence in their private prison complex.
This week we had an unprecedented Opposition inquiry into homelessness get eclipsed by a bloody cell phone recall.
Remember when John Key said there was no housing crisis? Well the Opposition found otherwise, but you wouldn’t have really noticed that much between the Real Housewives of Auckland stories and cell phone product recall.
That this shite gains more attention than the poorest amongst us being made homeless by counter productive and spiteful social policy says much about what kind of country we have become.

The dismantling of the Social Contract with the NZ Government is and has been underway for sometime. First they dis-empowered the Social Welfare Act by stripping pretty much every entitlement from the Act as well as restricting a persons “Right” to support from the State to bare minimums. Less than an ordinary citizens ability to provide for themselves & family members.
This government has to go this time next year sooner!

I saw a memo from a website that showed all the public media four years ago were sent a warning from a specific Government agency within MBIE that all programming sent out from that time would be controlled through a new “accredited `Quality assurance” monitoring system set up to prevent any “unwanted surprises” or “Embarrassment towards Government, and I was horrified then so is that agency still in force as a screening of our public media now?
