  1. Young unable to afford housing is not just a problem in New Zealand:

    Episode 824

    https://www.rt.com/shows/keiser-report/318933-episode-max-keiser-824/

“In this episode of the Keiser Report, Max Keiser and Stacy Herbert discuss economic insurgents and fiscal charters leaving the economy to monetary policy. In the second half, Max interviews Fran Boait of Positive Money UK about Osborne’s ‘fiscal charter,’ the rise of inequality and its causes.”

    • Thank you Mary,

I had forgotten the Canadian election, and the liberal Government got in well good.

Memories for me as I arrived in Canada in 1998 under a conservative leadership in that year I witnessed Trudeau-mania when Pierre Trudeau Justin’s father got Liberal into power then, and it was a great day.

We should be buoyed by this change of direction here.

    • John Key listen up here!

Canada ;“They have rejected the politics of fear and division.”

You practice this form of Governance creep!

We also have suffered through seven long hard years so make plans to move next election as you see how Canada just rejected Harper for selling out to PPA in secret as you did!!!!!!

Traitor as you will pay for your evil.

“Harper’s party announced that he would step down as leader, but he also vowed Conservatives would return in new force as the official opposition.

Conservatives won 102 seats but were starkly outperformed in Toronto, where they had hoped for a close contest.

The New Democratic Party (NDP) suffered major losses to the Liberals’ benefit, and leader Thomas Mulcair conceded to Trudeau while promising to work with the new government.

“Mulcair also celebrated the Conservatives’ defeat. “Canadians have turned the page on 10 long years,” he said. “They have rejected the politics of fear and division.”

  2. Jesus H Christ! Has anyone here ever watched TV3 “Story”?
Shits and Giggles with Heather Doo Doos and Dunk.
Still …. I suppose it goes with a shits and giggles Proim Munster, shits and giggles foreign policy, shits and giggles parliament, shits and giggles understanding and respect for democracy, sovereignty, culture, sportsmanship, community, poverty, abuse……
Beam me up Scotty, my time is obviously up.
    FFS!
This is what its come to!
(apologies – I just took a brief look at that “story” abomination. Sometimes I think the best thing that could happen to NZ would be a major power cut for about a week)

    • Tim, the promo-shorts were enough for me. I’m pleased to say I’ve never watched an episode.

By the sounds of things, you watched some truely rubbish tv. I feel for you.

      • Yep Frank …. the remote control kind of ‘lagged’ and I ended up on 3.
I remember your contributions from way way back – regular letters to the editor et al.
I find it quite interesting that whilst you’ve morphed from leaning right (in that trad left-right axis) to what is now considered ‘left’ – based on evidence and reasoned argument, others (like half the fucking Labour Party) have moved ‘right’ – based on self-indulgence, greed, and their ability to rationalise their shift on the basis of what they hope people will consider maturity (settling down and having kuds). They haven’t matured – they’ve ripened, and most times they’re about to rot.
(Btw…. I’m now even more convinced a decent bloody power cut might be the answer – we should make it 2 weeks.)
