What happens when Mike Sabin’s ‘personal issues’ become public knowledge?

The moment Mike Sabin’s ‘personal issues’ become public knowledge the backlash against National should be immense. I say should because after the voting public of NZ rallied to Key and actually handed him a larger margin of victory at the election despite mass surveillance lies and dirty politics revelations, I refuse to ever underestimate the blind ignorance of my fellow citizens ever again.

Mike Sabin’s ‘personal issues’ however may be a point too far for even middle NZ.

NZers will demand to know when Key knew about Mike Sabin’s ‘personal issues’ and how in Christ’s name he was allowed to be appointed as the Chair of the Law and Order Select Committee.

Key can paint Hager as a communist, denigrate Snowden, have repeated brain fades on Kim Dotcom and mass surveillance lies but he can’t squirm out of when he knew what in terms of Sabin.

We can’t let him.

  1. I am surprised that you think it is ever going to come out. There is far too much at stake for FJK, personally, for this to be made public. I believe that the sabin creature has been issued a ‘super injunction’, a fantastical legislation. It means that no media, NO-ONE can report anything about the case including the fact that there has been a super injunction issued. I have this from Lauda Finem and I trust that site.

  2. “Ahh, look, you know, sure, someone tried to hand me the information long before the election, but it’s a well known-fact that my aura actually prevents negative energy from seeping in, and I think New Zealanders appreciate that. They want a positive Prime Minister who can lead them into A Brighter Future. Here’s a picture of my cat, Moonbeam, taking a dump on Max’s CDJ players.”

    • I doubt it – Paul Henry, doyenne of the right media will jump to Sabin’s defence, label anyone who denigrates Sabin as ‘tree-hugging-PC-too-fluridated-brigade”.

The public will laugh. Key will distance himself (and/or forget). Slater will use his beating by Jesse to use this trigger to write a piece about left-wing beat-up.

Paul Henry will be on the airwaves, the TV and the internet.

“The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.” ― George Orwell, Animal Farm

This f*cking country hasn’t gone to the dogs, it has gone to the pigs.

  3. What beats me ,Martyn? Is how the hell not one, of our 120 odd M.P.s!!! Is prepared to make a stand on this issue. Do they all condone John Keys Lying?? I would say yes. Not one is prepared to , Stand up and tell it for what it is , then turn on his heel and walk away. Pure and simple Guttlesss.

  4. Sadly Martin, I think there will be a lot of people who can’t be bothered to care, think it’s a lot of fuss about nothing, a conspiracy theory form the left that’s been blown out of proportion etc etc.

And I know what he did.

At the end of the day – no one cared. Not his family, not his colleagues, not our community, not my school.

Let’s hope things have changed in the last 15 years aye.

  5. The plain fact is that the issues of most concern to the voting public are the economy, education, health, welfare and crime. I doubt there will be huge interest over Sabin’s misdemeanours especially as he is no longer in Parliament. There’s been numerous examples of JK’s brain fades and what he knew when but these are things which the public don’t pay a lot of attention to. I don’t see this issue as being of great interest to the masses.

      • I was told by a National office worker it wasn’t really bad,but if it wasn’t bad why did he resign. If the culprit was anyone but a John Key mp it would have been blazened all over the msm.
surely Key cant use political position to hide crimes for his own survival.

      • Oh I’ll bet JC knows the details. JC was gloating about Cunliffe and the Lui ‘donations’ before they came out. JC is in the loop.

    • @ JC – You state – “I doubt there will be huge interest over Sabin’s misdemeanours …”

      Hmm we’ll see.

We will see about that when all is revealed and the proverbial hits the fan as a result! Kiwis will only tolerate something or someone for so long and I’m sure the truth will be totally intolerable for a good majority of NZers!

When it happens, I can guarantee Key will be hurriedly packing his bags for the next flight out to Hawai’i. He will be wanting to distance himself from Kiwis as fast as he can!

    • You wish, JC typical Nat supporter response, who are you trying to convince, it matters a great deal because of Keys lies and hidden agendas.

    • @ JC
      ………………………………………………………………..

Economy …………………casualised labour redefined as ‘ 1 hour per week as full time employment ‘ . 300 , 000 working poor on the minimum wage. 25 cent increase of the previous minimum hourly rate. Meanwhile $ 8,200 .00 increase in MP’s salary per annum . Public uproar leads to this being clawed back….still far greater increase than the most vunerable of workers get.

Education ………………..Novapay scandal. Introduction of measures designed to destroy collective bargaining and thus solidairty through mechanisms such as ‘merit’s test’s ‘….designed to break union power and encourage individual contracts. Greater funding given to subsidise private education schools while funding slashed for lower decile rated public schools.

Health and Welfare………Todays news announces 11, 000 children with special needs will have their fundings slashed , – creating hardship for those families concerned. Particually hardest hit will be those families on low incomes.

Crime ……………………….Todays news announces Police apology to the victims of the Roastbuster’s criminal activity’s. Public notes lack of adequate accountability by head officials – buck passing. General rise in amount in crimes of violence , and fraud.

Welcome to Planet Key and the neo liberal liar’s paradise.

    • “There’s been numerous examples of JK’s brain fades and what he knew when but these are things which the public don’t pay a lot of attention to.”

Well, that’s mostly to do with the fact that most of the public follow the almost deliberately shallow and infantile MSM which isn’t exactly known for caring about Key’s brain fades or flagrant lying either. Their main election coverage and how they railroaded Nicky Hager is clear example of where their priorities lie to a large degree unless the issue is simply too big for even them and their covert Op-Ed writers such as Carrick Graham to spin away for them…

They were happy to print headlines such as “Resignation in order” over a non existent donation and an 11 year old standard Form Letter for Cunliffe, while also curiously similarly happy to let loose the very same reporter, one John Armstrong, with the dulcet tones around the statement of Bill English when he pretty much made stuff up on the trot about tax cuts (in part I think because he was blindsided by Key’s propensity for making any deal, any deal whatsoever to keep himself in the headlines no matter what) with cooing a “National soothes voters” headline concerning a statement that went ‘Could be 500, could be 1000, could be 1500 … I don’t know, you pick a number! … we haven’t even worked on the details!’

So the public, by and large, sadly I must say obviously, get told what to care about.

But here we have a different matter altogether – the kind of thing Sabin has been involved in is no small matter. And the truth of it will out going by Winston’s statement that the voters will know come hell or high water.

On that promise, we can guarantee Winston will make good on it.

As for nobody caring because Sabin is no longer an MP?

Fat chance – his ex-treasurer is taking over. One shady and (going by answers to Northland’s issues) patently clueless character takes the spot of a considerably dodgy character who shouldn’t have been put there in the first place … and, added to the impending disaster, is the fact that he was placed as Chairman of the Law & Order committee.

And all of this because issues were kicked to the top but ignored, forcing a By-Election that need no happen in the first place?!?

No – it’s a waste of time, money, resources and distraction to be doing this entire exercise and the blatant pork barreling going on, the cutting short of trips to foreign shores … that does not bode well, and National know it because they know their people as well as those opposed to them anyway will certainly have something to say about this.

If it was an issue that people would not care about then you would not see such energy expended over the avoidance at all costs to address it properly.

The present patsy candidate of the government has already changed tune in subtle and telling ways, attempting to distance himself no doubt from the inevitable repercussions

This will hurt. And they damn well know it.

    • @ Caroline Glass – the appeal process begins immediately it seems, so no info will be made public.

    • Don’t think so Caroline but Winston Peters said something about it today ,the Mike Sabin affair will come out before the election come what may,i hope hes right. A high profile male from south island whos suppression order was up today ,he appealed and suppression order may carry on, I caught these few items on tv ,
a visitor was watching tv and I heard it from a distance,so wait for confirmation.

    • The speaker will shut them down ,he wont let anyone put the PM under pressure,i wonder if it legal for the speaker to have such power, hes just a National shady cover up poser.

    • The speaker has said that no one can use parliamentary privilege to mention it. He claims to have thought very hard about the matter.

  6. they can make any statement as far as i know and it becomes a matter of public record, am i missing something?

  7. Old age pensioner Winston at it again with his mistruths. He claims he knows all about it, has the info and it will all come out shortly. Thats what they’ll put on his tombstone. How many times does he know everything about something in particular, has emails & docs to prove it and never does produce anything. His colouring of the truth just dies a natural death without any from the media hitting him up about it. He is full of hot air. The media seem scared of him because why have none asked him why his party not paid the $158 k owed to Parliamentary Services. Cowards the lot of them when it comes to taking on Winston.

    • Funny, I seem to recall a lot of this sorta sentiment happening around the time of the BNZ stuff ups and high stakes games being played out with political figures very much in tow …

And then Winston pulled out a Wine Box… oh dear. Oh dear oh dear.

  8. “Cowards the lot of them (MSM)when it comes to taking on Winston.”

Yeah and same could be said of John Key, Judith Collins, Mike Sabin,
Jason Ede, and a whole lot of others in your crummy Nasty NatZ Party Eh Brian.

It will be a day of redemption & renewal and of the purging of this corruption trail this toxic Government has left when Winston takes the Northland seat.

We cant wait until the Warrior of Northland gets amongst the Key figures and clears them out. Go Winston

Go, save NZ from these toxic Corporate bought assassin’s.

  9. Can someone with legal knowledge advise what the jurisdiction of the suppression order is? I’m not a lawyer so I don’t know, but I would expect it’s NZ’s sovereign territory? So anyone breaching it who is subject to NZ law is chargeable?

Due to the interweb we have access to information from sources that are not subject to NZ law though. This has happened before I think, where name suppression was breached on an overseas site, which kiwis then browsed to, effectively rendering the suppression order pointless?

Short of a state firewall ….and that may be coming…….what’s to stop someone posting it on a site outside NZ?

  10. I wonder about that too Martyn. I also wonder why you find it necessary to bring Jesus of Nazareth into the discussion. But of course given his history of lobbying for the poor and outcast I am sure he would be right there with you.
