    1. I think you are right on target .I would prefer a few less for NZF but he is getting g so much exposure you may be right .The I.poetant fact is getting Labour out is important for the good of the country and its people

  1. Jeez, be great if Martyn is right about NZF 4.8%!

It is all still to play for at this stage–turnout is king.

Acting PM Carmel has the perfect chance for a “Cap’n’s Call” hammer blow–Wealth Tax, Basic Income & free Dental now! and win the election. Soz, Chippy was waylaid…

    1. God I wish… If NZF fall below 5 and there’s about a 3 point swing from the Nats to Labour then the left can still win, would probably help as well if Raf wins Ilam and coat tails an extra 1 or 2 MPs in
If the left vote, the left win!

      1. Tragically, if the Left leadership sells out, the Left typically don’t vote.
That is what we are currently witnessing happening before our very eyes.

  2. Chippy has COVID but it’s Winston Peters that has mutated into a viral strain that the country could well do without. He conveniently forgets that he was part of the government for three of the last six years and while, for some, it’s all about Jack Tame daring to ask questions he looked just as much a consummate bullshit artist with Rebecca Wright. NatAct might be completely disingenuous with their “we care for all” messages but they don’t scream corrupt media when they can’t answer a question ( to be fair it’s probably because they actually have a policy of some description).

  3. Metservice has orange background to the black words Voting Open at the bottom of each panel for the day’s forecast. I feel like adding the words ‘Don’t let the wind blow through your mind and blow your thoughts away’.

It seems a long time for voting, long enough for it to be forgotten in favour of round-to-it. What about starting on a Friday with the weekend following and then the full week finishing on late Saturday as of now? That would give extra time for all people, going to vote on the way from church would extend the religious experience! It is something we should do religiously after all.

  4. Tony Vietch you were a highly paid news reader dependent on oil companies sponsoring the sports news. So I don’t know why u are so anti aspiration.

  5. National: 35%
    Labour: 28%
    Green: 15% + 3 Electorates
    ACT: 10% + 2 Electorates
    TPM: 2.5% + 4 Electorates
    NZF: 4.8%
    TOP: 2% + 1 Electorate

Greens 15%, TPM overhang and TOP Ilam coat tail or bust!
If the left vote, the left win!

  6. The rise of the Right in New Zealand is not phenomenon unique to this country. To a greater or lesser extent what is happening here, is happening in most other countries.

    The Economy….
    Union Busting….
    Class War on Renters….
    Speculators Paradise….
    Environmental Bonfire of the Vanities….
    Amputation of the State….
    Race War….
    Gun Fetishist Fantasies….
Private Prison Empire and Prison Riot….

All the evils the under the disastrous sub-headings a Right Wing administration will deliver, Martyn has forgotten one.
War will exacerbate all the evils on Martyn’s list.
And make no mistake, war is coming.
War is how competing market economies inevitably come to deal with depressions, slumps, recession, economic contraction, whatever you want to call the periodic economic collapses of varying severity common to market economies.
When you roll all the disastrous outcomes of fall throated unregulated market capitalism contained in each of Martyn’s sub-headings – war is the outcome. To use Martyn’s term, the military is the part of the state that is never “amputated” because war is the inevitable result of economic crisis and global economic rivalry.

Politics is concentrated economics, War is concentrated politics

As the Russian market economy turned to war to avoid collapse, exiled and jailed Russian climate activists have had to re-prioritise their climate activism to antiwar activism,
The calculation they have made is this; “If we can’t stop killing each other, how can we stop killing the planet?”

Only the Left can offer an alternative vision to this compounding national and global disaster.
The Labour Party’s failure stems from the fact that after agreeing many decades ago to become a reliable manager of capitalism, the Labour Party have lost their Left alternative vision for the economy and country.

P.S. The only New Zealand political party to realise the danger and propose a Left alternative vision to war, is TPM.

Maori or Pakeha Tau Iwi or born here, give Te Pāti Māori your Left list vote
