The Children’s Minister said these back office cuts will be redirected to front line services. Others such as Willis and Luxon have said this at various times. If you redirect spending from one area to another you are not saving 6.5% so how can they be making such statements?
Because they are lying. You only have to go back to when the cuts were first announced and they clearly said they were to reign in spending. Much like Willis’s assertion borrowing wont be used to fund tax cuts. They must think the electorate are morons. Roll on the budget for the next episode of “The Great Shitshow of 2024”.

History repeating itself. National mutilates the public sector and then health, education, police etc etc etc are eroded. National brings in the private sector to assist with hospital operations at millions of dollars, private charter schools at millions of dollars and the right wing voters are so fucking thick that they can’t see the irony in laying off thousands in the public sector to promote the private sector.
