1 year on from Lynn Mall terrorist – what have we learned?

It is VERY hard to read the report on the New Lynn Terrorist Ahamed Samsudeen and not see how our intervention as the State in his life turned an angry young man into a knife stabbing terrorist.

Everything about our interaction with Ahamed Samsudeen radicalised him, and there really has to be some exceptionally hard questions asked of almost every State Service who dealt with him because all it looks like is we manufactured a terrorist by the way we treated him.

I fear that we are going to do the same thing with these antivax Qanon fringe lumpenproletariat by over reacting.

Legitimate domestic terror threats to the State must be nullified and prevented at all costs, but fantasists who believe in a magical world of make believe need to be responded to proportionally no matter how their behaviour frightens the rest of us.

As we struggle at the height of all the economic and social pressures that are tearing us apart, I fear our fear will cause us to blunder it into something worse.

  1. Pretty woke post – now it’s NZ’s state fault that Samsudeen became a terrorist and tried to repeatedly kill people before knifing innocent people in a mall.

    Samsudeen came to NZ on a study visa and within a month dropped out and then somehow became a protected person with fake documents as immigration was stopped from deporting him by the woke tribunals. Samsudeen has opportunity but instead of bettering himself, he dropped out to try to kill others! Somehow woke feel this is acceptable and someone else’s fault?

    If there is fault, it is that the state can’t be bothered to stop the world’s unskilled narcissists coming to NZ bludging and victimising other people here who have done nothing wrong! As soon as a foreign national drops out of a study course in NZ or becomes unemployed or is discovered with fake documents they should immediately be deported. That’s what other countries with better human rights than NZ do! Guess what their roads and construction works a lot better too!

    The murderer works at a fast food restaurant in-between killing his poor wife for not having a child. Must be necessary to fill our skills gap! Sarcasm. Only got 10 years jail which seems to be a pretty light sentence.

    Paying tax is now optional in NZ – we reward overstayers… once this man gains permanent residency then he will then qualify for the free taxpayer help he couldn’t get as an overstayer.

    The woke tribunal went against the doctors advice that his disability he will be a burden on the health system! Not taxes got paid while he was here. I guess that’s the same tribunal that allowed Samsudeen to stay in NZ with his fake documents, and knife people later on, when immigration wanted to deport him.

    Wonder why NZ is in poverty and crime is escalating? Maybe it’s because the world’s woke seem to be converging in NZ and enabling those with high needs, narcism, stupidity and criminal tendencies that other countries screen out.

    As more crime and poverty hits NZ, it becomes less desirable for skilled taxpayers to live here so not sure who’s going to be doing all the higher skilled professional jobs when you get more sympathy and credit from not working or studying and harming others.

    Is there going to be a post about it not being Tarrant’s fault for being a terrorist, or is being a white supremacist terrorist a different story for woke?

    The left celebrating their weeding out candidates who are anti vax and want to make democracy unworkable. Their witch hunt will drive these people under ground and the results won’t be pretty.

Let’s not forget the support by successive New Zealand governments for the Lankan regime’s persecution of anyone who isn’t a Sinhalese Buddhist, whether on a ethnic basis as in the case of the Tamils, or a religious one as in the case of Muslims (this is also conflated with their targeting of Tamils who are mostly Hindu and Christian not Buddhist). If Ahamed was safe on the island of Ceylon, it’s unlikely he would have been either radicalised or here.

  6. Skimmed through the RNZ woke version of events and did not find any sympathy for the knife victims, just woke virtue signalling about how the terrorist should have been given more!!!

    Just when you thought it safe to go back to woke media snowflakes, you get another shit story to enable violence. Sorry no sympathy for terror knifers and not interested in glamourising Samsudeen. No wonder there are now killer copy cats around NZ.

    Then the taxpayers have to bail RNZ and NZ media out as nobody wants to read that crap!

    With our literacy and cheating rates, few will be reading after 2025 anyway – might as well save the money for our overflowing prisons and justice systems – after all NZ mostly needs takeout operators and labourers as our media is constantly telling us.
