This. Is. Ludicrous.

Green Party co-leader Russel Norman put the first of what are likely to be many questions about Mr Key’s relationship with Slater, asking him how many times he had phoned or texted the blogger since 2008.

“None in my capacity as Prime Minister,” Mr Key said.

Dr Norman asked whether Mr Key was claiming that when he spoke to Slater he was doing so as leader of the National Party rather than as Prime Minister.

“That has always been the claim,” was Mr Key’s response.

“I have never rung Cameron Slater in my capacity as Prime Minister.”

However, Mr Key said he was “not 100 per cent sure” he had never used his ministerial phone to call Slater.

So when Key rings Slater to gossip about dirty politics and plot and feed each other information, he doesn’t do that as the Prime Minister, even though he might be using his ministerial phone? It’s convenient who John Key wants to be when it suits him. When he made self reference to being briefed on giving Cam SIS information, he claimed he was speaking about his office, now he’s having out of body experiences with Cameron Slater as just John, not as the Prime Minister.

Did John talk to Cam as John while he was being asked as the PM to be briefed by his office over handing Cam Secret Intelligence Service info? Or did John’s office brief Cam as the PM? Do they even know who the other is when they are talking to each other? Does John reassure Cam he’s calling just as John Key, money trader and laid back chap you’d love to have a beer with over the barbie or does he call as the leader of the National Party?

This is only going to get a lot funnier.

  1. If you watch the Questions for oral answer on that question take a look at the other Nat MPs around Key, particularly Bill English next to him. They did not look like a bunch of happy chappies. English kept his eyes down and wore a pained expression most of the time. This is supremely embarrassing for Key and National.

  2. I watched Parliament yesterday and saw FJK in true form, being deceptive and lying through his teeth, indicating nothing has changed and never will, while he is there as PM!

It’s more or less what I am expecting from FJK this term, but what really gets me is the fact he gets away with deliberate deception and lies! Why so, when anyone else would be quickly made accountable? What is it about this abhorrent excuse for a human being? He’s virtually untouchable!

I just hope that all opposition parties keep up the pressure on the Natsies and FJK re their part in Dirty Politics. They can’t keep up the charade forever. Something will have to give eventually, pointing to a prosecution of FJK and his rotten mob of miscreants!

We can but live in hope.

  3. This is bizarre…

But more telling is the utter lack of interest from the MSM. If not for Guyon Espiner at Radio NZ, you wouldn’t know this was happening.

Now pause for a moment and imagine if David Cunliffe had used Key’s wanky excuse.

Patrick Gower would be in hysterics on TV3 News and Tweeting that the Lord Master Satan was being “tricky”…

    You know it.

  4. This would be funny if it weren’t so serious. This is how John Key uses language to try and avoid incriminating himself. He is essentially trying to avoid the question. I’d hope that the opposition continues the line of questioning, narrowing and refining it based on John’s answers until he is forced to admit that like with David Farrar he talks to Cameron Slater all the time (and by talk I mean in person, by phone, fax, email, Skype or any other communications medium whether tax payer funded or not) and during the election campaign probably did so regularly to discuss who to smear next.

The man’s a weasel who will try to squirm out of any responsibility. He should be sacked and prosecuted.

  5. Question is when does he stop being PM. Does he leave the office at the end of the day and stop being PM then? When he is on holiday in Hawaii does he stop being PM. If so to either of these questions, why does he continue to receive briefings etc. I have a problem with the idea that the PM of our country isn’t the PM sometimes especially at times that appear to be arbitrary or at his convenience.

  6. The Prime Minister is at all times Prime Minister. It is not a function he can duck in and out of at will. He carries the responsibility and as Harry Truman insisted “the buck stops there”.

  7. You’re right . That was very funny . And mystifying .

” Oh what a tangled web we weave
When first we practice to deceive. – Sir Walter Scott (Marmion, 1808) ”

Clearly dear old Walt must have bumped into Dr Who who transported him forward in time to observe jonky and his psychopathic machinations , travel back in time then pen the above . That’s amazing !

  8. How can this is get funnier while these leftist scum smears continue?

Sheesh, why can’t you people see that John Key as a sympathetic, caring man can put aside the burdens of office and extend the hand of help to a needful citizen, an ailing fellow human.

He is too modest to announce the fact he has started a help group and wants to quietly do his good work. Goodness knows, Jason Ede is not around to let the facts out.

John, not as Prime Minister you understand, just as ‘John’, actually offers nuanced assistance according to particular needs at particular times. Truth be told John has a range of calls even under the ambit of ‘Just John.’

Does he get appreciation for the effort he puts in to measure which assistance is needed at what time? No way.

It is taxing for him knowing whether to use the Psychopath Intervention Gesture (PIG), the Sociopath under caring Key (SUCK), Loyal Intimate Aid Response (LIAR), or Delusional Arsehole Group (DAG). His newest is the Favourite Loony Assistance Gesture (FLAG).

He gets a John and Cameron Kindliness (JACK) call off and gets criticised!

The PM will be disappointed if he finds I’ve spilled the news of the groups he’s come up with. Not as Prime Minister you understand, just as ‘John’.

Primarily though, when he instigates a DAG, PIG, SUCK, LIAR, FLAG, or JACK off, I wish that Norman guy would just leave him alone.

  9. Anybody else notice that TV3’s Simon Wong’s coverage of Norman’s grilling of Key (Q3) (Duration on In the house Question Time 12 mins 45 secs) in question time, had been edited to take out Normans reference in the question to Key as follows (ref 6min 28 secs);
“after the blogger (Slater) accused an alleged sexual attack victim of bringing it on herself, or after Slater described a car crash victim as a feral who deserved to die”

Simon Wong’s article added to TV3’s online content 3.16 pm 22/10 and runs for 11min 40 secs and was on W/O yesterday. Have checked W/O today and Simon Wong’s article on W/O down to 10 min and 2 seconds and now includes the missing referred content above but appears to ends early. TV3’s sight still holds 11 min and 40 secs on their online content.

Question arises – why did Simon Wong /TV3 edit the question and leave out the above references?

  10. he has a lot of hats, the guy you would want at your bbq hat, the rugby analogy guy, the pm hat, the psychopathic liar hat, the super relaxed guy hat and more

  11. Courtesy of Wikipedia:

Dissociative identity disorder (DID), previously known as multiple personality disorder (MPD), is a mental disorder on the dissociative spectrum characterized by at least two distinct and relatively enduring identities or dissociated personality states that alternately control a person’s behavior, and is accompanied by memory impairment for important information not explained by ordinary forgetfulness. These symptoms are not accounted for by substance abuse, seizures, other medical conditions, nor by imaginative play in children. Diagnosis is often difficult as there is considerable comorbidity with other mental disorders. Malingering should be considered if there is possible financial or forensic gain, as well as factitious disorder if help-seeking behavior is prominent.

    Sound familiar?

    • @ Andy K – Familiar alright! Sums up the PM amazingly well I think! Thanks for sharing this info.

      Nut bar anyone?

  12. Having a PM with so many personalities, using whatever character suits him depending on the situation, should set alarm bells ringing!

A leader of a nation has to be accountable to his/her nation, for his/her actions. Obviously not so in NZ though it seems, because we have a PM using multiple personalities to avoid being caught out in his deceptive behaviour!

Wonder which personality will involve NZ in the US conflict in the Middle East against Islamic State?

Every time FJK opens his mouth now, there will be some doubt in which capacity he is speaking as, because regardless, he won’t be able to be held accountable, now he has set this extremely strange game of non compliance during questioning, in action!

  13. I would like to know if Key considers Cam Slater a friend, a close friend, a life long friend… Slater actually doesn’t seem to do friends that much. Perhaps just a political ally. As a political ally, how can Key suggest that it was not as Prime Minister that he spoke to him.
I would imagine that outside of clearly family-type communications, the PM is the PM all the time.
Maybe it’s can just be brushed off by a high redefinition of “Prime Minister” and dismissed as easily as poverty.

  14. John rings Cam on his bat phone, and says, “No worries Cam we have Aucklanders believing they are millionaires with the housing champagne bubble, they are kissing my arse, so your sweet, put a cold one in the fridge and a saussy on the BBQ”.

When the money buckets arse falls out the people will have FJK’s head, just wait for the crash and everyone will sober up. It’s all about the money, rosy tinted Dior sunglasses is what keeps the blind eye to FJK utter bullshit. Or maybe when the” honey darling” classes kids are on the front line, or mentoring? or is it advisers? what is the front line actually called these days?

  15. Definitely a diagnosis of personality disorder. He’s not sure of his identity or indeed whether he is a person, a leader a prime minister or sometimes just an office. He needs psychiatric treatment badly. Maybe someone could tell him who he actually is. Because one thing is sure, JK himself doesn’t know. Does anyone remembef actor Danny Kaye in The Secret Life of Walter Mitty? Maybe JK thinks he’s the new Danny Kaye.

  16. Who is that man pictured with Cameron Slater – is it the prime minister, or the leader of the national party, or bronagh key’s husband come to check if the cat has been put out …

    • He stopped his main medication for five weeks before the election. He looked really shattered and drained as a result.

When he started drinking again on election night he started to mend. The Smiler was back.

Now do we all see why he behaves like a drunken lout at question time after he has had his “lunch”?

      • @ GROUCHO MARXIST

His ‘lunch’ could well be the reason his speech comes across as a bit garbled during question and answer time in Parliament.

        • I would really like to see workplace drug testing in Parliament.

If testing is good enough for workers who make decisions that could endanger peoples’ lives why does it not include our top decision makers?

JK sets a poor example to others. It is a worry to think that he is making decisions while possibly not in the clearest state of mind.

It is a hard one though. His five dry weeks before the election made it look as though he performs better when he is not on the wagon.

  17. I have spent a lot of time with seriously mentally unwell people, and Keys is absolutely not like them. They experience appalling suffering, and disempowerment.

Keys seems more to fit the sociopath diagnosis, or perhaps narcissistic personality disorder.

  18. So he has 3 faces, one as PM, one as party member of National and one as a citizen.
Now, the first two he probably can get away with parliamentary privileges in passing information to Cam but if he claims he is also talking to him as a citizen, then what protections do citizens have when passing sensitive information to Cam?
I suggest further investigation into this 😉

  19. Lets not forget ‘Johnny who am I’ also suffers from ‘keyzheimers’ disease which is much like Alzheimers but more selective in what it forgets ….

So he’s even liable to forget who he is at any given moment.

Slaters is his mental health and brain injury support group sponsor.

    The phone calls are therapeutic.
