Xi’s 80th celebration of victory against fascism has turned into a vastly more important global statement thanks to Trump’s insane Tariffs campaign.

While we should all hold Trump’s America in contempt and their enabling of Israel’s genocide an abomination, let’s not pretend that Xis’ Gallery of Rogues holds any hope.

China is a repressive Communist State who organ harvest from dissidents, cruelly ‘re-educate’ Uyghurs and runs a massive surveillance state that truly borders on the Orwellian.

Russia is involved in an illegal war they started with the Ukraine as Putin feeds his own troops into the mincer of war without hesitation.

North Korea is little more than on organised crime state that starves its own people.

India’s virulent and violent Hindu Nationalism borders on religious fascism.

Iran beats little girls to death for not wearing the right headscarf!

There is much to find distasteful in the ‘west’ and the legacy of colonialism still hangs heavy upon us, but let’s not pretend that Xis Gallery of Rogues is somehow a better alternative!

These are the largest human rights abusers on the planet getting together for a jamboree of militarism that represents the very worst of us as a species.

I will not bow the knee to these crooks and dictators any more than I will for Trump or Israel.

We are fast running out of leaders, countries and values to support.

But Russia is fighting back against NATO, China has little crime, Iran doesn’t pretend ‘israel’ is a real country, and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea has successfully defended itself against foreign aggression for more than half a century. Horrifying!

    I see Israel is not in the list. So the “largest human rights abusers” happen to be all those standing up to the US, while Trump and Netanyahu are valiant fighters for the human rights of oppressed people? Is it true then that all Netanyahu is trying to do is save the people of Gaza from Hamas?
    Or did you simply mean the “largest states” because by definition all states are human rights abusers?
    In which case you would be correct, because states claiming authority over two thirds of the world’s population were represented in Beijing.
    All “rogues”, none of them Anglo-Saxon and only a handful of them ethncally European, although it is interesting to note that the “former” rulers of many European states did accept the invitation to attend – including Helen Clark and John Key from New Zealand, Bob Carr from Australia and a host of others.
    In other words, the US dominated bloc officially stayed away but unofficially hedged their bets, as “the leader of the free world” Donald J Trump becomes increasingly deranged and the “rogue” states appear to be not only more stable and reliable, but to have human rights records that compare well with the US, Israel and the others that chose not to attend on account of their self-perceived moral superiority over the coloured nations of the world.

While those assembled in Beijing are not “without sin”, that arguments against them should still include the hoary old tropes of organ harvesting of dissidents and the Uyghurs being brain-washed is disappointing. Given President Xi’s clear statement yesterday, outlining the choices now facing the world, “war or peace”, it’s past time that we exposed those tawdry diversions for what they are and addressed the real issue – the sham of Western democracy.

  7. This western meme that China is harvesting human organs from the Uyghurs is utter nonsense and has already been debunked by westerners who visit and live in China. China initially had problems with the Uyghurs in Xingjuan who wanted to create their own state and call it “East Turkmenistan” were violently stabbing any Hans Chinese at railway stations or any public spaces in Xingjuan. The Chinese regime had to clamp down on these radicals so took measures to suppress these terrorist acts.

And while the CIA was funding terrorists in Xinjiang to murder innocent people, the ‘Uyghur Genocide’ was invented by a deranged fake christian professor of ‘religion’ (Satanism in his case) called Adrian Zenz. Zenz’s Mossad funders wanted a distraction from the actual genocide they are carrying out against the Palestinians.
