Will Trump attack Iran to eclipse latest Epstein revelations?

Editor’s note: This article is an analysis of political risk, media distraction, and historical patterns of escalation. It does not claim foreknowledge of military action, but examines whether past behaviour suggests cause for concern as new information emerges in the public domain.
When the Epstein Files were causing him grief last time, Trump illegally kidnapped the President of Venezuela and seized their oil. With the release of 3 million more damning files, he’s threatened a comedian, adopted a provocative and inflammatory coal mascot as the planet burns and retweeted such an egregiously racist tweet that it all reminds us he really doesn’t want any more attention on the Epstein Files does he?
Which is why we must keep reading the Epstein Files.
Every day something new and horrific bobs up from the ocean of a flood of deeply disturbing revelations that has been released like the sudden release of long-suppressed information.

Distraction Politics and the Use of Spectacle
Escalation as Distraction: When Spectacle Isn’t Enough
I feel a military strike on Iran coming up to prolong the distractions.
Iran’s Protest Crackdown and the International Response
Let’s just cut straight to the main issue here.
The appalling Theocracy has killed 6,000 protestors with another 17,000 being investigated.
Levels of violence comparable to other modern mass crackdowns.
There has to be an International response to such a terrible massacre of civilians because the Iranian people deserve to live in peace like every single human being should.
But to think that response should be military is strategically reckless.
The only reason we are dealing with a Theocracy is because of the American CIA coup in the first place!
More military action is NOT the solution, but rationality doesn’t mean much to Trump.
We have seen in every military action he has embarked upon the build up of force before it is unleashed.
He did it with the first Iranian Nuclear Strike, he did it with Venezuela and he is doing it again for the next Iranian strike.
Trump’s Record on Military Escalation
Trump likes hard hitting quick military action that doesn’t involve boots on the ground.
I suspect he will do another bombing run on Iran’s Nuclear Infrastructure alongside some extra targets the Israeli’s have given him.

He will attack and then stand back to see if that helps topple the regime, but he has zero interest in Democracy building, only reconstruction speculation.
The Risk of Regional Collapse
The problem of toppling the regime is what comes out of the power vacuum.
A Theocracy is protected by religious zealots who can not be reasoned with.
They will cause unending carnage once triggered.
The refugee tsunami that will crash into Turkey
Iran is 90 million people, it is far larger than Syria, Iraq or Libya. Imploding a nation as huge as this will cause enormous shockwaves through an already destabilised region.
Trump could succeed in unleashing a catastrophic humanitarian rupture that mutilates the region for centuries.

You make a “good” case for a US invasion of Iran Martyn. At least as good as anything that Donald Trump could come up with.
“Let’s just cut straight to the main issue here. The appalling Theocracy has killed 6,000 protestors with another 17,000 being investigated. Those are IDF levels of butchery. There has to be an International response to such a terrible massacre of civilians because the Iranian people deserve to live in peace like every single human being should”.
Everything that follows is superfluous, and I think you know it.
‘The appalling Theocracy has killed 6,000’.
How is a war going to save lives?
‘Iranian people deserve to live in peace like every single human being should”.
How is a war going to do that?
This is the same theocracy that survived eight years of war with Iraq.
Attacking Iran is the dream of neocons and Bibi. Its going to happen regardless of Epstein. This is the Empire trying to prevent Eurasian transport integration and the flow of oil to China.
