  1. The economic system is now grasping at straws. Gone are the days of picking the low lying fruit to achieve growth, now legislation is seen – more than ever – as the means to stimulate both productivity and growth. Optimists and apologists alike will argue we’ll all benefit from the changes, you know, pipeline savings, trickle down, good for all. Many will be winners, big time, others on the wrong end of the legislation will be the losers. Streamlining? Rationalization? Trickle down? Pipeline savings? Call it as you wish. And as MB’s post points out long term the environment is the likely loser, and that means all of us.

    1. Desperate to be seen to be doing things on the political stage (To Be or Not to Be, All’s Well that Ends Well, abut could be Love’s Labour Lost) there must be something to push for the wealthy backers to fund their Parties for next election.

The rich don’t care what happen as long as their dvdends from fu…ing NZ keep up. So cry big tears you people who don’t keep your eye on the ball of politics. Make turning NZs losing streak on its turntable in 2026, point it towards Labour, (lacks verve but not so many underhand passes and ball-biting); let NZ Politics be the team game for 2026. Give up your Olympics or whatever, the Game is Here, now. Make it so!!!!

  2. Not only will the environment be the loser but so will the people who end up buying a property with a shonky garage or deck built on it…

Luxon, Bishop, Brown, Penk…. Wouldn’t have a practical bone in their collective bodies…that is obvious….wouldn’t have a clue how
to read a set a plans or which end to
    hold a hammer….

Just like Brooke Van Velden trying to tell people what is and isn’t safe on a building site or a forestry block….

Yet another clueless, ignorant, recipe for disaster, minister.

These ignorant clowns, who naively believe these changes are going to somehow magically make N.Z.
richer, are an absolute menace to N.Z. society….and when the inevitable death and disasters occur, they should be held accountable and made liable …

That’s the way the real world operates!
