  1. Every single person who goes in should have rehab regardless of what they are in there for: drugs booze violence, mental health, if they don’t then we can expect most of them to reoffend, plus learn some skills, so when you come out you can become an assistant carpenter.

How many people in prison for years some of them and nobody has bothered to check whether they can read or not. How many of these people have family who actually give a fuck, SORT IT!

STOP locking up people for stupid things

  2. “All Mark’s plan will do is put vastly more men into overcrowded, under resourced, corrupt and violent prison system, where they won’t access rehabilitation services because they have to admit guilt and that will lead to them doing full lags without a days worth of rehabilitation and come out the other end even more violent.” Hear hear.

  3. My thoughts are that the lack of a decent home environment to do home detention in is probably the biggest barrier to increasing the number of prisoners getting that option. My perspective is that all have sinned and while the self righteousness types get very judgemental and want to punish offenders they remain wilfully blind to the conditions in society (poverty, poor education opportunities, expensive housing, easy alcohol access etc) often created by them that are major causes of crimes.

  4. The redemption rehabilitation reintegration bullshit got that woman killed. Fuck the feelings of rapist murderers and their apologists
