  1. I lived several years in Australia, and never encountered “deep-seated anti-Kiwi resentment”. Rather, a complete and friendly acceptance.

But it is true that Aussies are unrestrained and uncharitable in giving their opinions on people like the so-called laughing one-punch Kiwi, with the public response leading to his likely deporting back to NZ. Difficult to be critical of that one, although certainly not someone we’d want to welcome back here.

    1. Yes ,… some balance here regarding the “deep-seated anti-Kiwi resentment” comments TOM GARDNER . Thank you. However , what Mr Bradbury is saying is also correct with the three points he has raised.

As Kiwis get treated abysmally in Australia regards voting, citizenship , study grants , welfare if needed , – and on top of this deportation issue when many of these people are in fact , actually Australians . Many were born there and many more taken there as small children. But Australia uses this trivial technicality of exceptionalism to base a whole raft of exclusive legislation on.

And the results are pretty grim not only for its victims , – but also with this country.

One gang member stated ‘ He didn’t want to be here , but he has no choice’… that he gave Australia 24 years ,- basically saying he was an Australian , not a New Zealander.

Such a shame the idiot right wing politicians of Australia couldn’t use their initiatives and convert those detention centers into money earning tourist camps instead… at least then they wouldn’t have to save face and forever be known as infamous…
