  1. Mike,

MBIE has been turned into a mega “corporate agency without a heart by it’s maker Steven Joyce” to bully workers and other agencies for their own agernda and that of the Government under national.

Labour need to disassemble MBIE as this is simply a corporate driven agency now.

Please labour do us proud now and take away this toxic agency MBIE that drove the nine years of National Party agendas.

    1. Second this, CLEANGREEN.

Isn’t this the agency that’s supposed to provide the inspectorates for working conditions?

I wonder if Labour has the energy to do so? Whether the Old Leopard has changed its spots from the days when they drove disestablishment and the jamming together of departments and services in the name of ‘efficiency’.

Is Andrew Little still valuable in this respect? (Even if it isn’t in his portfolio.)

  2. Contrast this to the process for following up companies who were overcharged for their ACC levies. The are proactively following up with each client. I think that is also being backdated ten years. Would have been interesting to see if that would have been the case if the claimants had been underpaid!

  3. Who needs ‘holiday pay’?

Should workers not be glad to have a JOB?

That at least was what the Nats used to say when in government.

  4. Probably the most major employer who is stalling on paying their workers is the Government itself. All the District Health Boards are owing their nursing staff who work weekends and night shifts their underpayments. They are ‘working’ on it, but two years later it’s all gone quiet. The problem is going to cost so much that they just don’t want to deal it. Nurses want the money that is owed but are being ignored.
