Wellington drowning in sh*t – how’s 3 Waters looking now?

Wellington’s water crisis isn’t just about broken pipes and sewage in the streets. It’s about political choices. The decision to scrap Three Waters — officially known as Water Services Entities Act 2022 — was sold as common sense. The consequences are now flowing, quite literally.
The Price of Scrapping Three Waters
The schadenfreude with this Government just grows and grows.
What Three Waters Was Designed to Fix
Three Waters was a collectivisation of Water assets so the type of Veolia Management incompetence so apparent at the root of the Wellington Water scandal could be overcome while legally laying out Māori interests in water.
It was the latter that the Dark AG money concerned about water pricing focused their Groundswell rage at by conning everyone into believing “Da Māoris was stealing da water”.
Wellington’s Sewage Crisis Comes Home to Roost
Well, now Wellington is drowning in faeces, how’s that hating on Three Waters going for you now whero necks?

It’s not just the counter productive fawning for the votes of bigots on the water quality front, it’s also their emergency housing policy that exacerbated homelessness, it’s also their war on the environment and meaningful climate change legislation while NZ is hit by catastrophic weather caused by global warming, it’s also the economic damage caused by this Government.
It’s funny watching all this self defeating policy and then spinning to see how on earth National, ACT and NZF voters will defend it.
The dumb ideas that compound real problems and half arsed solutions that only generate counter productive outcomes force National, ACT and NZF to become more extreme.
How the Right Will Defend the Undefendable
They will respond to the criticism of ending Three Waters for racist reasons by arguing it’s just a couple of storms and the climate is always changing and that by safe guarding corporate water rights they are really saving us from Da Māoris stealing Da water.
They will respond to growing homelessness by demanding we just arrest them and send them to work camps.
When challenged on weakening environmental rules while we get hit by climate change storms, they will claim mining is the future and you are a hypocrite for even bringing up the issue because you are probably using a phone or laptop that requires are earth minerals and that it’s just a couple of storms and the climate is always changing and climate change is a socialist hoax.
They will respond to criticism National have tanked the economy with failed free market ideology by screaming about Labour and Jacinda.
Short-Term Politics vs Long-Term Infrastructure
The Left are prepared to do the long term work for the big issues that impact all New Zealanders while the Right is ceaselessly looking for expediency and a quick buck for their few.

Three Waters was structural centralism. It was the appropriation of local water infrastructure/assets into the hands of, initially, three regional structures controlled by Wellington bureaucrats and Iwi corporate interests. There were no guarantees that incompetent profit driven foreign entities would not be involved in the day to day running of that infrastructure, as has been the case in Wellington.
3 years of Green controll of Wellington did not help the wastewater situation or the roading.
That’s because Moa point is under control of the Greater Wellington Regional Council.
And roading will never keep pace with Kiwis car addiction regardless of who is “in control”.
Anyone else think Trev has a shame kink?
Given how much he embarrasses himself, it’s the only reason I can think of for consistently posting things that display such ignorance.
Moa Point is owned by WCC and run by GWRC who report to the owners. In 2024 they were told the plant was on the way out .
Hey Trev!
What are your thoughts on the Key government selling half of our power assets which has led to zero investment in power generation and soaring power prices?
And what are your thoughts on the fact $500 million of the proceeds went to cow water?
Not water for humans, cows ..
How much water infrastructure could have been remedied with $500 million?
See the difference between informed content and the ranting of a gullible fool?
