Wait? WHAT! ACT supports slavery???

Wait? WHAT!
National and Labour MPs team up to get slavery bill heard after ACT objects
National and Labour are joining forces to get modern slavery legislation into Parliament, using a new process to skip the biscuit tin for the first time.
The MPs backing it say the process was needed because the ACT Party and its Workplace Relations Minister Brooke van Velden refused support.
National’s Greg Fleming and Labour’s Camilla Belich have agreed to co-sponsor the bill.
The bill strengthens reporting to Parliament, brings in public naming and potential liability for directors and senior managers, along with fines up to $200,000 for companies that failed to report on modern slavery, or which made false or misleading statements.
“Large companies will have to report on modern slavery that they find in their supply chain, that they have to report that to a registrar that keeps those reports – it provides for ministerial oversight and it also provides greater support and focus for victims,” Belich said.
This would apply to all companies operating in New Zealand making more than $100 million a year. It would also introduce civil penalties of up to $600,000, give the Human Rights Commission a formal role and create a public register of reports.

Let me get this straight.
ACT are such wide eyed free market acolytes that they consider slavery as something the State shouldn’t interfere with???
How far right are ACT?
Refusing to crack down on slavery is kinda one of those entry point issues in a Modern Democracy.
If you refuse to make slavery illegal and toughen regulations to prevent slavery, then you kinda don’t deserve to be part of the representative democratic process.
Opposing slavery is a little like rejecting political violence, it’s a necessary value to be allowed to participate.
If you run in elections while advocating political violence, you rule yourself out from participating.
Likewise slavery, if you aren’t prepared to make slavery illegal, you rule yourself out from participating.
That ACT refused to legislate against slavery is a scandal of immense proportions.
We all knew ACT were pretty extreme, their knee capping of pay parity, their race baiting Treaty Principles Referendum, their Atlas Network adjacent libertarianism and their acquiescence to Corporate power, but refusing to fight slavery is one of those things you can’t really ignore.
If you democratically support slavery, you are beneath our collective mana and deserve nothing but contempt.

ACT are disgraceful but consisten.t
The choice for a thriving country, is always working harder, or working smarter.
The Gnact coalition however, are too lazy to work hard (that’s why they went into politics) and too dumb to work smart.
Of course they want slavery – they know their own productive capacity is negligible.
It’s always been the case that any business owner that needs National or ACT’s policies, to survive, isn’t really in business.
Typically decent of Labour to team up to assist National re the Slavery Bill that ACT refuses to endorse! Impossible to read ACT with their ‘on-again, off-again’ mentality but this failure won’t have helped them with the voters. Is there no end to the actions of this Atlas Puppet? Seymour sure isn’t interested in what is good for NZ, just stirring the pot!
Why should we be surprised? The ultimate aim of capitalists is to minimise or eliminate the costs of labour. Marx defined this in the 19th century and nothing has changed. Their desire for automation/robots to do the labour is part of this. ACT has done everything it can to reduce labour costs and slavery is merely the end point of that. There are many examples in history of capitalists seeking to minimise costs eg., the early years of the industrial revolution in the UK when even young children were forced to toil in factories and mines. The obvious example is the use of slavery in the USA to provide labour on the cotton fields, thus contributing greatly to the USA’s finances, and also to the cotton mills in the UK. The sugar industry is another case in point.
I really don’t know why anybody would want to give ACT the time of day…what a brainless, clueless, classless, bunch of grifting, naive, unworldly, know- nothings.
Just look at them…two 40 year old virgins as leader and deputy leader, who, between them, have zero real life work experience, and, up until recently, when he was finally slung in jail, had a Party President who liked to rub his genitals around young teenage boy’s annuses….then Seymour tried to gas- light the complaintants.
They are morally bankrupt at every turn and had no problem rigging the MMP System by doing a jack-up nod nod wink wink deal with National to gain access to power…you wouldn’t trust them as far as you could kick them.
Seymour, who suffers from attention seeking behaviour disorder, (usually a condition grown out of by age 9), must phone up the media about 10 times a day to try and get his face on tv to spout some innane crap.
As just one example, look no further, to highlight the child that Seymour is, was when he tried to drive a vehicle up the steps of parliament just to get attention….keeping in mind that he’s supposed to be the Deputy Prime Minister of a country and leader of a Party…The silly media obliged with tv cameras and a reporter…
They should have, of course, ignored his 5 phone calls made earlier in the day, and not turned up.
It is little wonder that N.Z. has plummeted in world rankings on just about every measure when this clusterfuck of a clown and soulless, financially spoilt, brat of a party can gain power.
Money has allowed the monkies to take over the zoo …and…clearly, they don’t have a
clue…. why would they?
N.Z. is in a very very bad place right now….
David Seymour is perhaps the most intelligent of all New Zealand politicians.
‘David Seymour is perhaps the most intelligent of all New Zealand politicians.’
Bob is a right Brooke Van Velden(No perhaps).
Bob the first is perhaps the most unintelligent of all immigrants to New Zealand.
An intelligent man knows when he is out of place and should move away. (A man of lesser intelligence does too.)
A man with character would get out or do right according to his measure of intelligence (regardless of faith).
Not my brother. Not scientific enough which I guess explains Seymour’s nastiness.
So you haven’t met many people in your obviously sheltered life then…
Ignorance is bliss!
