  1. Labour have been using their power over the Maori for years .Thayer promise so much and set up departments with Maori names give a few prominent Maori job as consultants and then do nothing. Labour under Clark treated them so badly they started a new party and after 5 years they are still nimber 1 in all the bad statics.

    1. “After 5 years”? So what was happening before that? Or didn’t NZ exist before then? How long after the 1st Labour government began what was a nation building program to bring NZ society into the 20th century did it take for those changes to bear tangible, and widely recognisable benefits to that society? Decades, that’s how long..
Even without NZers insecurity, bigotry, and stupidity in gifting the Colonial descendants long opportunities to undermine any real progress, the benefits survived… Until the latest, and most damaging love affair with the preferred hit man for what has now morphed into the “Military/Industrial complex”..
But don’t you worry. Just blame the labour party, again.. It’s like an echo that hasn’t stopped ringing for nearly a century at least, and it still works on the herd like a charm..

  2. A good politician/party can sell their ideas to the electorate.

Though the above is an interesting take, the electorate, rightly or wrongly is unsold.
