  1. Cue the cries of
    Assad!
    Putin shill!
    Hindi nationalism!
    Anti gay!
    spoiler!
All of which has been repeatedly debunked, but clung on to despite the realities
I agree, she’s the only credible hope in a horrible political system
For that reason she probably won’t survive

    1. I think hit-pieces and false claims are brushed aside more easily thanks to Hillary Clinton.

My Personal Prefernce would be Tulsi and her foreign policy coupled with Sanders as her running mate / VP and his economics.

And Elizabeth Warren as democrat leader / shadow leader of the house.

Increasingly I find this dream team too nice and perfect. I remain pessimistic because it would be to perfect and I have seen no compelling evidence to suggest that my dream democratic team to take on Trump will be allowed to contest the 2020 Presidential elections by the DNC corporate hierarchy.

  2. We in the west, including the population of the US have become inured to the horror that the USA has been dispensing to defenceless countries around the globe since WW2.

Returned service personnel like Telsi have seen what America does as close range and it must affect the nature of US society to have so many such returnees. But they don’t all respond to their experiences the way Telsi does. Many join the police force and carry on with the same mentality toward their own population as the had to become accustomed to in war.
It isn’t only the hot wars though, the sanctions to starve people in Venezuela and Iraq, causing misery and death to hundreds of thousands has the same result. We all just carry on doing business with them and helping them in their hideous “foreign policy” activities. We need to wake up to what US is and does in the world. It’s Really Not OK.
Hopefully Telsi can get this message across to enough Americans.
There must be an enabling psychology that allows leaders to externalise what the effect of their policies/ actions are on the victims, a feeling that it isn’t really their decision, it’s shared and necessary for complicated vague distorted reasons.
    Good luck Telsi.

    1. American right here D J S ; millions of us are still proud of the USA and Trump has solid support. I will be voting for him in the US election, and David Seymour in the NZ election. Conservatives are alive and well, and you lefties know it!

      1. As a US voter David, did you hope as I did that he would stop regime change wars? As he said he was going to. And withdraw from Syria and Afghanistan?
Are you disappointed that he has not reduced this interference in other countries’ affairs ? Do you think he never intended to reduce US military activities in other countries’ , or do you think he is being controlled by unelected actors and doing what he has to?
I must admit I still can’t make up my mind on these questions. I notice that he has not actually started any new wars. It looked close in Venezuela , and it looks close in Iran. But he hasn’t done it yet.
I agree it seems as though he will probably be re elected.
The Democrats won’t let Bernie through , and certainly not Tulsi, and Joe Biden will have about as much appeal as a dead flounder.
        Cheers D J S
BTW I live with an American. As nice a human being as can be imagined.
