  1. Let’s not forget that many people are stubbonly stupid….or stupidly stubborn

Many did, and still will, vote against their children, grand children and great grandchildren’s best interests.

At a fundamental level these people are ignorant, delusional and have fingers plugged into both ears whilst tunelessly singing la la la la la . .. in a word…they are fucked in the head.

The politicians who encourage these people, and they in turn support them, should be forcibly removed from Parliament / power because they are now a menace to society and the overall future of our country and even our existence.

There can be no doubt that things are going to deteriorate rapidly.
Even in the farming sector we a big divide now between the 10-20% who want to, and are trying to, farm in a sustainable way and the rest who think it’s all a big hoax and are giving the middle finger to the rest of the country and fellow farmers with one hand while clasping a fist full of dollars with the other.

This useless bunch of wankers currently running the country , who have deliberately tanked the green economy, and who have driven the rest of the economy straight off a cliff, are now in desperation mode trying a finger in the dyke strategy with any and everything which is proving to be disastrous.

They are in for a big shock…but are too thick to see it coming.

    1. 10 members of the current government are associated with federated farmers which represents a third of the farmers .As we know fed farmers do not believe in climate change ,even when their cows and farms have been washed away .They are too thick to see that mother nature will reclaim all the swamps they have drained over the last 100 years and wash all the hills ,that were deforested ,down the river and into the sea.For such a small % of the population to have so much sway is bloody crazy .

  2. Some people are honestly mislead about global overheating.
If they are prepared to listen to the science, then they can either be not honest or not mislead.

  3. Aaah Jacqueline I do not think you are on the same page as ‘climate change’.

  4. The rich are the force behind climate change, much as they are the force behind everything in today’s world. What this Govt is doing, is tinkering around the edges, this is what all Governments get to do in the face of richie rich, global level policy.

Meanwhile, this global level policy will and is being rolled out, all governments, all councils are 100% behind this. Controlling resources – making it more difficult for developing countries to develop and controlling we, the people – is the real name of the game here.

  5. Ministry for the Environment,11 Apr 2023:

Nearly half of New Zealand’s greenhouse gas emissions come from agriculture.

The main source of agriculture emissions is methane from livestock digestive systems. It makes up almost three quarters of our agriculture emissions. Our next largest source is nitrous oxide from nitrogen added to soils, followed by manure management…...

A wave of dairy conversions is rolling through Canterbury, with more than 15,000 additional cows approved in just six months — a notable change after a period of slowdown.
It comes as farmers respond to record-high milk prices and the roll back of national environmental rules. But while farmers embrace new opportunities, critics warn the trend could deepen Canterbury’s struggles with freshwater pollution…..

In May, The Press reported about 15 farms were considering conversions, involving about 10,000 cows. With increasing global demand for dairy products, more applications are likely….
Federated Farmers North Canterbury president Karl Dean previously said he knew of about 15 farmers interested in converting to dairy….

    Greta Thunberg:
“If we can’t stop war, we can’t stop climate change”

“If we can’t stop ecocide, we can’t stop genocide”

The Genocide Convention famously obligates states to prevent and punish the crime of genocide
    The Genocide Convention.
These decisions are not made by corporations or bureaucracies, they are made by human beings, people with facesa and identities.
If we can’t prevent climate change, then we are obliigated to punish those responsible for it.

Federated Farmers North Canterbury president Karl Dean needs to think very carefully before he seeks approval for more Fonterra dairy conversions, or one day he could find himself alongside others facing charges before the dock at the ICJ.

UN court’s ruling opens way to legal action over climate change
    Thursday 7:49am

    https://www.1news.co.nz/2025/07/24/un-courts-ruling-opens-way-to-legal-action-over-climate-change/

….Court President Yuji Iwasawa, during the hearing, called the climate crisis “an existential problem of planetary proportions that imperils all forms of life and the very health of our planet”.
The non-binding opinion, backed unanimously by the court’s 15 judges, was hailed as a turning point in international climate law.
Notably, the court said a “clean, healthy and sustainable environment” is a human right. That paves the way for other legal actions, including states returning to the ICJ to hold each other to account as well as domestic lawsuits, along with legal instruments like investment agreements……
