The Department of Justice pressed for a criminal investigation into the actions of Renee Good’s widow on the day she was shot and killed by ICE agent Jonathan Ross, according to the report. Good’s wife was seen on video engaging with Ross before the shooting, but none of her actions in the widely shared video appeared to be illegal.
Harry Jacobs, Thomas Calhoun-Lopez and Melinda Williams were also among those who resigned on Tuesday, according to the Times. Jacobs had been overseeing the U.S. Attorney’s Office’s investigation into fraud and Calhoun-Lopez was the Chief of the Violent and Major Crimes Unit, the Times reported…..
These Federal prosecutors would have been on good salaries. It takes a lot of courage to give up your livelyhood and the economic security it brings your family, for an uncertain employment future, on a principle.

In Nuremburg, it was determined that, “I was following orders”, is not a valid legal defence for committing lawless acts. The court in Nurmemburg, ruled that every person is responsible for their own actions, that every soldier has a moral duty to disobey illegal and immoral orders.
No matter what the personal cost may be for refusing to obey illegal orders, the court in Nuremburg further ruled that illegal orders must be disobeyed at whatever the personal cost.
At the ICJ and ICC, enshrined in international law, it is a punishable offence for soldiers to carry out illegal orders.
In Trump’s America, it is an investigatable offence to state this law.

….Sen. Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich.) said Tuesday that she’s under federal investigation for participating in a video last year, where she and other Democrats with military and intelligence backgrounds urged troops to defy illegal orders.
Slotkin slammed the Trump administration in a Wednesday video post on X, for using his [Trump’s] political appointees at the FBI and the Department of Justice to follow through with his threats” against lawmakers in the November video.
