WEDNESDAY 1 AUGUST
9am: Session 1: Environmental Reform Agenda
The Government’s environmental reform agenda Hon David Parker, Minister for the Environment is expected to outline RMA intentions, progress with the Kermadec Sanctuary, implications of freshwater reforms and climate change on land use and how his economic development and trade responsibilities align with his environmental ones.
1.40pm: Session 4: Fisheries Reform
The government’s fisheries reform agenda Hon Stuart Nash, Minister of Fisheries is expected to cover progress on putting cameras on boats, on the proposed fisheries inquiry, on his intentions regarding aquaculture and the King Salmon proposals and on ecosystem-based management.
4.15pm: Session 5: Urban Reform
The government’s urban reform agenda Hon Phil Twyford, Minister for Housing, Urban Development and Transport will traverse his urban development authority proposals, the future of Auckland’s rural-urban boundary, the latest evolution of his transport investment plans and electrification of NZ’s vehicle fleet.
5.55pm: Session 6: National Political Update
National’s environmental reform policies Scott Simpson, National Party Spokesperson for the Environment and Planning has been given responsibility to lead a fundamental review of National’s environment policy and will explain how he intends to go about that, what the opportunities for public engagement will be and some early ideas about future directions.
THURSDAY 2 AUGUST
2.00pm: Session 11: Conservation Reform
The government’s conservation reform agenda, Hon Eugenie Sage, Minister of Conservation has been asked to explain what the increased budget provision will mean for biodiversity conservation, how to better protect our freshwater fish, the future of tenure review and ideas for better protecting New Zealand’s outstanding landscapes including the Mackenzie Country.

Why it is illegal in this country to oppose new coal mines, or other fossil fuel projects, on climate change grounds?
Why is it illegal to protest deep sea oil exploration?
And, don’t these two pieces of vicious pro-fossil fuel industry legislation make a mockery of the government claim to be acting to protect the climate?
