I am genuinely saddened by this…
Democrats are condemning CBS for its recent decision to cancel The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, noting the news comes just a few days after its host criticized the network’s parent company, Paramount, for settling a $16m lawsuit with Donald Trump.
Senator Adam Schiff, a California Democrat who appeared as a guest on Colbert’s show on Thursday night, later wrote on social media: “If Paramount and CBS ended the Late Show for political reasons, the public deserves to know. And deserves better.”
In early July, Paramount settled a “frivolous” lawsuit with Trump over the president’s claim that CBS News deceptively edited an interview with then presidential candidate Kamala Harris. Paramount is also seeking approval from the US Federal Communications Commission for an $8.4bn merger with Skydance Media. On Monday, Colbert called the settlement “a big fat bribe”.
…and of course, Trump is a total prick about it…

…Colbert is a unique talent, who was able to bring adult discussions that mattered to the masses. He didn’t tell us what to think, but he challenged us on what we should be thinking about.
His intense scrutiny on Trump was always enlightening and transparent.
He bright oversight and insight while entertaining.
He was the cosmopolitan stranded of decency in a time of social media hate algorithms.
He was the conscience of America and any claim that the decision is purely financial is bullshit in light of the corrupt payout money they gave Trump alongside their desire for a media merger.
This was political and it is alt-right cancel culture at its worst.
This political hit job on Colbert happens just as Trump dumps a $10billion defamation case on the WSJ who aren’t exactly known for being car carrying members of the Communist Party…
