  1. How many died in protests over George Floyd, again?

Anyway, this is all irrelevant. There is no organized left wing in the US, and the US is a force for evil that has been responsible for millions of murders across the world in the 21st century alone. There is no reason for any human being to care what happens in the headquarters of the american empire, apart from funding political groups whether ‘left’ or ‘right’ which seek to overthrow it.

  2. An American president is rich old fart, who owes his position to rich campaign donors. Essentially one finger to Joe public who can choose between bad or worse, depending on which side of the political spectrum they fall.

  3. Neither side in this debate can claim any moral high ground when it comes to inciting violence against the other. There is plenty of evidence with just a cursory glance at the internet. To claim otherwise is disingenuous.

    1. You are correct, either side claiming a moral high ground is silly to show that it would require people leaving their echo chambers.

I wonder if Simon Wilson ever found the evidence for his “75% of political violence is from the right” claim that he made on the last working group – and that he then couldn’t back up at the time. I’m sure as a trusted journalist he’ll have a solid source for it.

      Or not.

      1. Does it depend on what is considered right wing these days?
Some seem to insist anyone with views slightly more moderate than Pol Pot is a Fascist Hitler Nazi.

        1. I woke up one day and discovered I was “right wing”. I don’t remember it happening but someone reliably informed me that I was, and who I am to argue with the (apparent) intelligensia.

So yes maybe Simon was right, and in fact his number may even have been a little low.

  4. “After Trump lost the 2020 election, Reuters documented hundreds of threats to local election officials by Trump supporters enraged by his false claims that the election was rigged”
People will continue to believe such claims until we replace the travesty of democracy that applies through the secret ballot with genuine democracy based on the open ballot.
If either camp – Republicans or Democrats, Trump or Biden – were sincere about affirming that the election was rigged or was not rigged then they would be calling for the open ballot right now. The reason why they are not doing that is that they both want to be able to either rig future elections, or to falsely but plausibly claim that elections have been rigged. Consequently democracy in the US, as in the Realm of New Zealand, has become a farce. That needs to change.

  5. The change in tone from US government and media after the shooting was instant, went from ‘Trump is the devil’ to ‘Let’s calm it down’. Hilarious self-preservation. And this protection squad shit show. New Zealand wants a romantic chaperone from AUKUS Pillar 2 (non sloped) when the US can’t even protect it’s own leadership? What next, saying the massacre of 30,000 kids is self-defense?

  6. There is no left in USA… organized labour ie some of the Unions, were on stage endorsing Trump at RNC.
