Jacinda pivots sideways during a lockdown?
Seems covid was wearing thin for our PM as well this week as she sought a new challenge to sink her teeth into – some random religious automaton not really worthy of attention (the ISIS lady, not PM Morrison). Jacinda has attempted a PR divert from lockdown to a citizenship stoush with Aussie, underpinned with subtle religious virtuousness and racial gaslighting. Who cares. New Zealand has actual terrorists in this country, domestic terrorist gang members and their associates who beat, peddle, thrill kill and destroy communities. Corrupt cops and entitled neoliberals who steal from the poor and wreck the environment for their patch are no better (you can get off a conviction if you are connected or a celebrity plus you get lifetime name suppression. You can also rip off taxpayers working in the ‘public service’ by paying yourself millions from the public kitty for doing sweet f.a.). We’re also in the middle of a lockup, a housing crisis and economic uncertainty for much of the population, so this new manufactured outrage and sudden concern for expats in Australia is irrelevant: it fails the sniff test even though it is a fart blowing past in the wind.
