  2. I was dismayed to see at question-time that The Nats were allowed to string questions together in Socratic series. This is a well established take-down system, and hard to counter. Allowing alternating questions is a better way to make sure all sides of a question are approached.

    The alternative will be to risk the Australian system, where the Opposition are allowed one question, and then the Minister talks for 15 minutes.

    The aim of giving more opportubnuity to the opposition may be praiseworthy but it is naive and ultimately counter-productive.
