So trenchantly criticising emotions under Covid19 is skipping the raw feelings of people under great stress and large hardship.
I have every sympathy for the writer, little for the small minds of those he exposes.
I think what also is exposed is the social damage that social media has encouraged. In ordinary life people would not be saying the things quoted, I certainly don’t hear such awful comment, but apparently it has become accepted that uncontrolled thoughts, OTT, can just be spouted out. It is an example of the childish thinking that many indulge in, adults in body but not having adult control, which must be behind so much of the domestic violence that is recorded. How to cope in a difficult world, how to control bad feelings – that should be something taught in schools, something as important to learn as geography!
