  1. Renting we hear about it – but there are thousands of stories. In Dunedin the university must be a major boost to their economy if that is important. It will be a major boost to their standing as a city if that is important to them.
It possibly keeps their airport open which seems important to the city, as the students struggle in with their goods, overweight, but ready for their long stay. Altogether the uni not being interested in keeping the Council on its toes ensuring that students are treated well and the landlords are rated and then get rated higher and higher if they don’t keep city ordinances and codes for good condition. But sigh, we are so slow overall in NZAO on maintaining our good standards. One bad example of Council and University neglect of what should be a duty of care to students but also to the city’s good name and education business.

Will eventually it have an identity that matches that of –

This landlord has over 30 Tenancy Tribunal cases on record. She traps tenants until it is too late to find other properties, provides inhabitable rentals that are substandard, comes and goes as she likes (breaching landlord obligations) and abuses tenants and their parents who stand up for their rights and then operates under bogus names on online platforms like Critic and Dunedin Bad Tenants pages to advance her cause and attack people. Provides fully furnished flats and then takes tenants to the Tenancy Tribunal at the end of the year for their bond – damages on furniture and fittings, down to the minor detail of replacement smoke alarm batteries. Dangerous and unpredictable. Advertises based on old photos and properties do not meet advertising standards on condition and insulation. Do not enter any lease agreement with her. Will go to any length to grab money, defame tenants, and protect her legacy. One of the worst of the worst Dunedin slumlords.
