The Daily Blog Open Mic – 27th December 2025

Announce protest actions, general chit chat or give your opinion on issues we haven’t covered for the day.
The Editor doesn’t moderate this blog, 3 volunteers do, they are very lenient to provide you a free speech space but if it’s just deranged abuse or putting words in bloggers mouths to have a pointless argument, we don’t bother publishing.
All in all, TDB gives punters a very, very, very wide space to comment in but we won’t bother with out right lies or gleeful malice. We leave that to the Herald comment section.
EDITORS NOTE: – By the way, here’s a list of shit that will get your comment dumped. Sexist abuse, homophobic abuse, racist abuse, anti-muslim abuse, transphobic abuse, Chemtrails, 9/11 truthers, Qanon lunacy, climate deniers, anti-fluoride fanatics, anti-vaxxer lunatics, 5G conspiracy theories, the virus is a bioweapon, some weird Bullshit about the UN taking over the world and ANYONE that links to fucking infowar.

Looking at the media awards I have caught up on things I didn’t know.
For instance I hadn’t heard of BHN media. So I looked up abbreviations and FYI if like me:

We talk news and politics and can walk and chew gum at the same time. We congratulate good ideas and chastise bad ones no matter where they come from on the political spectrum. We’re unashamedly on the left, but we’re fair ..

Gen-Z Revolts Against Dystopian Future as Protests Sweep the Globe.

‘youth-driven unrest that is fomented on social media and draws inspiration from video games and anime.’ Great they have got away from their devices – now what. Express their unhappiness. Then what?
Through the latter part of the 20th century there were protests and people were thinking about how to make life better and meaningful, but up against complacent, game-playing politicians. For NZ 1975 was important in that it started a new trading regime with the UK, breaking what we thought was permanent and politicians’ accustomed style; opened the way for sly dealers with economic promises to creep into our ears like biting fleas.
That opened the way to 1984 and neoliberal open trade agreements following and now money and getting more, and assets are the order of the day. Internet and electricity are all that the wealthy need, with people as spenders and consumers. But there’s a rub, wages have been forced down, and employment is degraded or wiped, and the people are being pushed out of the economy. Ordinary people have become like the old racist saying ‘the white man’s burden’. Huh. BRIC will change that.
The order of the day – all our intellect and drive has brought us to again massing and protesting. And ordinary people carry out orders, and feel they are lucky to be employed as waiters. Rising up and making a fuss, or blaming the oldies, is a waste of time, money and effort, after the first one just to show the resistance flag. It is hard yakker after this, video games can give practice in steps, maneouvring, but psychology and philosophy discussions and practice at discussing and listening, assist understanding of the nature of man and guide minds to see results of various procedures, and show the way probably. But it must be learned, youthful belief is no preparation for complexity of life.
