There’s probably a really simple question politicians and their enablers should be asking themselves in the runup to ’23. Especially in light of Chippie’s desire to see some reform, in this space going forward
And it is that ‘IS our Public Service actually serving the Public?’
And when we ask that question, we need to differentiate between the peons at the coalface doing the mahi, and their overlords.
Roll on ’23, and being a Wellington resident, I can’t wait to see the next local body erections. They don’t seem to have even got their ‘fundamentals’ in order. It won’t be a “soft landing”. “on the back of” a number of failings in that space, going forward”.
I’ll be watching with pop-corn in hand (I hate pop corn, so maybe a dahl dip and some rice cookies) and a bit of wild spinach, with a hint of capsicum, onion and peppers – possibly even run through a rather gorgeous little Kmart style blender.
It’ll be thoroughly home grown of course, and I’ll avoid GarBak’s New World and it’s bullshit pricing as much as poss.
