Basically it’s a popularity contest for PM. Labour needs a relatable Everyman/Strongman leader. Hipkins isn’t it. They should promote McAnulty ASAP. He’s likeable, he’s forceful, he’s genuine and he doesn’t have the Covid legacy hanging over him.
