If this is how WINZ treat Russell Brown – imagine how they treat the vulnerable?
The very first thing a new Labour Government needs to embark upon is a vast purge of the public service staff who are as much part of the problem as the policy is.

Watch as the National Party dirty politics attack machine goes ballistic. The fictitious $11billion hole that doesn’t exist is just a taste of how vicious the rich and powerful get when they are suddenly threatened with losing power.
2011 and 2014 was dirty politics using Cameron Slater and David Farrar as the delivery vehicles, 2017 it’s dirty politics via the power of incumbency.
National are fighting this election by lying about Labour & playing to the pettiest bigotries of their rump vote – bootcamps for delinquents, benefit cuts for druggie beneficiaries & human rights erosion for gang members.
I’m not sure how widespread it is for government ministers to refuse attendance at public meetings when they are asked to front for unpopular policies but in the case of Minister of Social Housing Amy Adams it is certainly true.
Mediaworks sacked John Campbell for politically motivated reasons because of John’s attacks on John Key, Steven Joyce used to own the company and the National Government once gave Mediaworks a sweetheart finance deal on license fees they couldn’t obtain from the open market.
All of that history helped Bill English win the second debate, it’s up to the voters to decide if a foreign owned media company should be able to frame them up as easily as they framed Jacinda up.
If they can convince the waverers; the voters on the point of climbing aboard the “Jacinda Train”; that Labour’s numbers just don’t add up. If they can make them feel that if they’re not very careful, then a bunch of so-called “experts” are going to advise Labour to tax their land, their batch, their business, their petrol, their water, their financial transactions, and even their inheritance. If they can inflame suspicion and build mistrust, then – dammit – they just might win.
How the hell this Party can still gain over 40% support is the question that should be troubling most of us, if National Party voters can still vote for these criminals after all the damage they have caused, then those National Party voters are part of the problem.
Why do we have big differences between rates of NZ Super? Why does a single sharing pensioner get $ 60 a week more than if their relationship is defined to be in the nature of marriage?
Why does a superannuitant living alone get $90 a week more than a married person?
No one wants to see meth in our community, no one wants to see organised crime flourish – but Paula Bennett’s absurd suggestions that we allow Police to conduct unreasonable searches on ‘gang members’ has so many loopholes and counter productive outcomes it smacks of desperation rather than intelligent and well thought out social policy to solve complex issues.
