  1. We have been so much more damaged psychologically as a people from the Covid response and the anxiety generated by losing the certainty modernity flawlessly creates.
This has demanded answers from our lived experience too deep for our shallow existence.

Very thoughtful and well put Martyn. The problem of so many questions that change slightly before we even get half answers to the originals, and then the horizon changes with additional clouds of technology, and climate change, and social struggle leading to not being able to trust and believe. One thing remains as good advice, look skeptically at someone who professes to know all about something, anything. Listen politely and if important to you, seek a second opinion from someone different who is thoughtful and has a history of doing things well in some area of life, just to sound it out.

  2. Oh puhloise @ Martyn. I’m struggling to understand why you even bovver to spend any air time on Her.
I’m pretty sure (even as a relatively intelligent woman) now believes in the rabbit hole path she’s taken.

There are far more worthy causes to spend your emotional capital on, in this space, going forward.

Leave the empathising to Billary Harry and your contrarian mate Damien. (It’s a function of the contrarian to disagree with as many things as possible – if only to display how clever they are).
Liz is in the capable hands of Hillary and Damien.
Seems to me there are far more worthy causes – like refugees including kids tipped into the Mediterranean Sea, or people in the Far North or Tairawhiti. If you must, even the shit that apparently keeps Meddy McLean up at night.
THe silly bitch used to live just down the road from Me years back. Even then she had a bit of “doncha know who I am about Her” THe neighbourhood was glad when she left

    1. Tim, But still, “ silly b….” is not a very nice way to refer to her, however she is.

  3. Liz Gunn seems alright, Bradbury’s take seems about right.

The Tokelau situation from what I understand (which is very little) was awful, though largely resolved? Regardless, Liz Gunn is right to shine some light on it.

    Now..

I suggest the Main Stream Media backlash towards Liz Gunn has made her indignant to authority.. unfortunately for Liz Gunn the police don’t care who she is and her indignant attitude clearly disadvantages her.

Liz Gunn seems to routinely claim hunky, strong dudes whom she has conflict with are deficient in brain power. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n5xkR4XrUwk

Clearly such an attitude will continue to work against her.

To quote Q (Star Trek); “Don’t provoke the Borg!”.

  4. Put the bag back on your head. When a corrupt as hell gov’t gets away with a massive bribe of MsM dont you think people will start turning over every rock. Liz Gunn is awesome. Total respect.! She cant be bought. Reporting should be fair and open minded. We have not seen this with N.Z. Herald… One news… Stuff. All weve seen is prescripted questions to a Leader who made out she was the whole truth. Go Liz you are a champion for free speach and democracy. If only there were more like her.! The corrupt media in this country continue to push the Labour narrative of socialism… the road to destruction. People have lost so many loved ones to the jab..and others nurse the harmed yet they have their voice taken awsy. Then you wonder why trust has dissapeared.

    1. You are correct in saying a rock was turned over but what came out was a slim ball called Liz Gunn. There are more rocks that would be great if left untouched .They have the simple minds of all anti vaxxers lead by the likes of Tamaki. The one good aspect of the covid was it lead to the ma mandates which exposed the underbelly of the unsociable group working in the social, sector such as teachers midwives and teachers . While many are now back at work their records will have a big red mark against them warning that they are subversive and should not be put in positions of authority now or in the future .

      1. Trevor your reasoning Trevor is a close match to the quality of your grammar and spelling.

Apparently, you are unaware of the 65,000+ verified jab injuries already listed on the Govt Medsafe website too.

Tell me… do you reside under a rock?

        1. I take 20 tablets a day due to a medical event in my life .On occasion these have caused problems but I do not stop taking them . As a vast number of sane NZ citizens had 3 jabs we are looking something like 10 million plus jabs .The 65000 noted events seem slight especially as some of the noted problems are relatively minor . Some were major but the alternative with no jab would have been far worse . Those like you (I am assuming you did not get jabbed ) benefited by the sacrifice of others who were more socially aware .

  5. The driver for this abandonment of reason wasn’t the public health measures of the COVID response, which were largely rational and had historical precedents.

in reality is the result of this century’s adoption of electronic social media. This has been THE game changer that allows meme-think and meme-thinkers to rampage and distort rational discourse.

Many amongst us are ill-equipped to deal with targeted lies and messaging. It would help if greater emphasis were to be directed by our educational systems to equip future generations with the skills such as source verification and to think rationally and sceptically.

    1. Agreed, I’ve watched a few documentaries on how conspiracy theories start, evolve and infect. All the researchers said pretty much what you said.

Interesting also, was the idea that many people start believing conspiracy theories to control the narrative of what to believe. For example MSNBC says one thing, and Fox says the complete opposite, you can disbelieve both sources and listen to what Q has to say instead.

  6. Stab in the dark is not Journalism. Suggest you do some real Journalism and hear both sides of a story. Your take is way off. Find the real story. Your a nasty piece Martyn.

  7. The one thing you can stop doing is bringing my beautiful name my dear late father named me is karen i was interested in your blog up to chrystal karen who hugs her dad i wish i could but he died of bowel cancer age 64 i have an uncle martin better than you
