  1. War doesn’t start with a call to arms, it’s already been brewing for at least a year. Mobilization takes, at least weeks. Money has to be moved, deals done, treaties negotiated ect. Spy’s, spooks, scientists killed. Then the army can be mobilised with those simple words – mobilize to the army.

We must say no to this. Julian must be given safe harbour in order the defeat this evil.

  2. An excellent article and one that can’t be written in MSM, even in supposed liberal/left-leaning papers like the UK’s Guardian. They turned from support when the journalism suited them but then became vile supporters of the campaign against Julian.

  3. WOW the man Assage will if found guilty(he will) will die in prison in Australia…if they keep their word (remember this is America and the CIA) and what’s sad,the underarm bowling Australians will kill a fellow Australian to continue being Americas BIGGEST BROWN NOSER they like it up them….Australia is the whimp in the gang of losers (Afghanistan)

  4. Thank you for this excellent piece .I had all but given up someone with journalistic credibility in NZ taking this on
But honestly, I don’t think NZ ia any longer that plucky little country that took on the US over nuclear warships in our harbours. Why is it that not one politician (apart from Chris Leitch) has even mentioned Assange , let alone expressed qualms about the trashing of his human rights .If only, I could feel proud of NZ again
His reputation has been absolutely torn to shreds with the sexual allegations, and too many people still believe them
I’ve followed the case for years, but I learnt a lot more from your article
Again, thanks, for the article and the work towards juctice for Julian /assange.

      1. Yep, signed and shared , and thought I’d donated , in fact that was to Action Station, bit of a piss-off

        1. Kia ora Francesca, like every campaign to change anything. It starts with a small group of people taking small actions.
So kind re donation effort! We should set up a way to donate. (*Glares at unpaid phone bill). Been working full time on this.

    1. +1 Francesca

Meanwhile if you are trying to kill people in NZ, and just knifed 7 in a mall, your rights are paramount in NZ.

Seems strange that those trying to save lives with journalistic disclosure of torture and murder are victimised while those openly trying to kill others are protected under human rights laws. Something is wrong, somewhere.

  5. Some USA government personage revealed the name of a CIA operative in public in the Senate which was a spiteful and unethical thing to do. This put all her contacts in jeopardy. What an ever changing set of ‘rules’ these people work under.

Is Rendition involved here which might be stretched out to Extraordinary?

    1. Yes the whole US attack against Assange is the pot calling the kettle black.
The US prosecution says they have found no evidence that anyone has come to any harm as a result of the Wikileaks publications. New Zealand investigative journalist Nicky Hager said he witnessed Assange take ‘extraordinary precautions’ to redact names and ensure no one came to harm.
      https://www.stuff.co.nz/world/europe/122836342/nicky-hager-gives-evidence-for-julian-assange-at-extradition-hearing

So no evidence of any harm done by Wikileaks. How much harm did Wikileaks expose? 16,000 Iraqi civilians murdered by US forces and names unreported. Torture of innocent civilians and Guantanamo Bay. Lies told to launch the war that killed half a million people, including 30,000 US troops?

The US also try to smear Assange as a hacker, yet there’s no allegation by the prosecution he hacked the information published. Manning had clearance.
Meanwhile doesn’t the US hack ALL OF OUR PHONES?

Even making out Assange is anti American is hyprocisy. In 60 minutes interview Assange said he founded Wikileaks on the principles of the US Constitution, specifically the First ammendment to protect press freedoms and the public’s right to know. This move by the Trump administration, and upheld so far by Biden’s, criminalises publishing information in the public interest. That is unconstitutional and ANTI US.

      Pot.. kettle.. black.

Re rendition have you read this article about US plotting to kidnap, poison and assassinate assange? – report gathered by interviewing 30 current and former US officials.

  6. Listen to one of the last real musician/humans on the planet, Roger Waters, he’s dead right. (try rt.com, the guardian sucks bigtime btw)

  7. No real surprise countryboy. You and I know full well that these are the very same kind of people that founded the USA. All sweet rhetoric but evil to the core.

  8. How safe would Julian Assange be in NZ, or anybody actually if the CIA is pissed with you? Even Jason Bourne would have unending trouble if they chose to find him. Then what? Maybe I’ve watched too many movies.
This is the USA and cohorts at their criminal worst, total wrecked his life, poor bugger.

    1. This was asked on the expert panel and we got some fantastic answers.

Former Minister of Courts and deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Hon Matt Robson said:
“It’s a problem and a problem Julian Assange helps us consider… An analysis of the five eyes is long overdue, and our role in it, and what it actually does? That’s where Julian Assange and other journalists who publish the truth can play a very big role.”

Daniel Ellsberg said “New Zealand does have a lot of blood on it’s hands. The participation with Indonesia providing names, was participation in genocide… Up to two million civilians slaughtered by machetes. The US provided names, and admitted it, without shame.”

So perhaps that question needs to be turned around.. Are we safe in the Five Eyes arrangement with Assange in prison?

Australian human rights lawyer Greg Barnes SC: “New Zealand is moving further away from (that alliance). While New Zealand is still a member of the (Five Eyes), the fact is it’s not a member of the AUKUS alliance, I think to its credit.”

      Hon Matt Robson:
“There’s no paper work. As long as he isolates, quarantines for Covid at the moment. His family can also be granted the right to come with him. It isn’t difficult… It would be an extremely important act because he’s under threat from assassination. I don’t believe that threat has been taken away. New Zealand would be in a position to give him further safety. Given the basic security of our country, the distance from other countries, the ability to keep him safe. He could also publish here in New Zealand.”

  9. Sweden refused the extradite a CIA agent who spied for the KGB because it was a political offence.

  10. Horrifying stuff really. Indeed why does the MSM not report properly on this.

I have sent the link for the page to about 60 people.
