Sooo… Tamatha Paul was right after all then?

Cough. You’ll remember the pile on last year when Green MP Tamatha Paul had the audacity to suggest that not everyone felt safe with the Police…
Stuff
…yeah.
’bout that…
New polling shows a quarter of New Zealanders have little or no trust in police
A quarter of New Zealanders say they have little or no trust in the police, new polling shows, but most people’s positions were not rattled by the recent Jevon McSkimming scandals.
RNZ
…turns out Tamatha was right and that a large chunk of our community don’t trust the Police and don’t feel safe around them after all.
Look.
The problem with the NZ Police is that there aren’t enough checks and balances to their power and if mistakes made and bad behaviour can’t be investigated and recompense made then people won’t trust the Police.
Tamatha challenged the authority worship of NZ and was punished for that, the data however backs her point up.

And if you look at the numbers the other way, about a quarter of us actually trust the Police.
Because you’re a follower. Lucky you
The 25 percent are probably the section of the population you and I would not want to meet especially at night.
I wonder if any of the 25 percent were glad to see these terrible police when the bad weather struck.
Trevor – My thinking as well…Most people do not support what Gang Members, Harden Criminals, and Self Serving Green MPs opinions on the Police are…
