  1. +100…good post..unfortunately this will be turned into an anti -racism and anti Winston NZF issue .

( as the Greens defined the housing buy up in Auckland … “crude racial profiling”)

…while our own New Zealanders, especially Maori , are denied housing and the basics of life…cuts in health and care services and state education

“The data demonstrates that New Zealand’s rate of migration is triple that of the UK.unfortunately”

    1. Yes, Buzzard, we’ve read the other blog post comments. You’re a NZ First./Peters fan. We get that. But this is a left forum and Peters is a conservative and a closet Tory to boot. You’re not a green supporter, going by your niggling comments against them.

So we have every right to reject Peters as p[laying any construcrtive part in a Labour/Green govt.. If you don’t like it, doors over there —>

  2. 1600 deaths per year in NZ attributed to damp cold housing. Just read the article / link provided.

    That’s appalling.

” Labour’s policy is to curb migration by up to 30,000, and raise the caliber of long-term migrants allowed to enter New Zealand. It also wants to crack down on poor-quality education courses, which can provide a back door to residency. This is long overdue.”

Labour will be getting my vote this September. Enough is definitely enough. I also do not like a political party with such a deceitful and abysmal track record such as National knowingly importing a future potential voting bloc to facilitate their socially destructive agenda for enriching the elites.

And OF COURSE many of these immigrants will vote for the party that enabled them .

The political motives are strong for the National party and their reasons to continue with this unbridled , irresponsible immigration setting , – as are their reasons for so many , many years in arrogantly denying what so many govt, business and social services in report after report have been stating.

    About homelessness.
    About the housing crisis.
About deliberately underfunded and inadequate infrastructure.
About fraudulent private educators and immigration scams.
About lauding a ‘ Rockstar Economy’- and importing even more immigrants to keep wages down.
About whole family’s living out of garages and cars and vans.

Enough is enough of all this. No modern western country should have to put up with this sort of garbage.

And though I would be just as happy to vote Greens or NZ First , this time round I’m going to add my tiny drop in the political bucket and vote for Labour this coming election. I’m going to make damn sure I know I’ve done what I can to get rid of these subversive National party neo liberals.

The name of the game is getting rid of National this coming September.

    1. Well said.
When the policy was first announced, the MSM concentrated on student visas with the PTE sector screaming.
      I made comments here: https://thedailyblog.co.nz/2017/06/12/labour-cauterises-the-foreign-student-rort/

thinking it was a good start.
I was concerned about the number of students who’d come and been royally ripped by a shoddy system and mechanisms that are tantamount to people trafficking.
The policy is better than a good start. It should be read IN FULL
http://www.labour.org.nz/immigration, because it also provides some hope for immigrants who’re already here, who’ve been ripped, but who now hold experience and expertise in various sectors in the regions (and who can that on to Kiwis).
It’s a sensible, well thought out policy, and one I suspect the Greens aren’t too unhappy with. Nor should Winston/NZ1 be.

What it doesn’t address are some of the many issues in Dr. Christina Stringer’s report – as far as the system and mechanism that enables it all. Such as corrupt and shoddy agents and consultants. BUT THEN IT IS AN IMMIGRATION POLICY – not a policy on how all those who’ve been subjugated and ripped might be compensated, or how the system can be improved (such as properly resourced and independent INZ and Labour Inspectorate – and indeed NZQA)

As you suggest though, watch the traffickers scream like hell and concentrate on bits and pieces of the policy in order to progress their agendas. They must be getting scared.

    2. the case is now vote national out for a future its become life and death situation

  3. John Key, and Bill English – have rubbished Maori and New Zealanders

    They have called us useless.

But they have taken (and are still taking ) donations from extremely wealthy immigrants and given them opportunities that Kiwis can only dream of. Banks, Prisons, Supermarkets, Casinos, Hotels, Parking Stations, Energy Companies, Housing….. endless wealth…..endless

Donations for National is Wealth for Foreigners.

    SHAME SHAME SHAME National !

    1. Never did like the term ‘ Shame’… seems too weak to me….

How about ‘ Self entitled, born to rule, treacherous globalist neo liberal self interested bastards who should be dragged before our courts on treason charges’ ?

Reckon that fleshes out the word shame and nails it.

  4. Yes, this country has more immigrants living here as per capita of population, as most if not all so called “western” countries.

It has had higher immigration over not just the last few years, over the last decade or more actually, thank the UK, Canada and USA, and they are at times moaning about the challenges and pressures they face there.

Only with a docile or put to sleep population like the Sleepy Hobbits in NZ Inc. can a government get away with such policies. Bribing them, making them hooked on immigration, as that is what keeps the economy “growing”, all else is not that ‘hot’.

And still now, the MSM and opinion makers go on about Labour being “anti immigrant’, FFS, we need an election shock here, a real election shock, does anybody please bother wake the Sleepy Hobbits up, and show them by daylight, what their country has become?

  5. The big problem we have with the Auckland Housing Ponzi Scheme is pricing is at it’s peak, the Banks are reluctant to add any more fuel to the fire and the Housing Bubble needs finance and buyers.

With pressure on Auckland’s Infrastructure and the likelihood of a change of Government, there could be changes to New Zealand’s Immigration Regulations especially with an influx of 60-70k immigrants into Auckland annually.

Another factor is the underlying land prices in Auckland have got extremely high hence speculative building is a highly risky business which the Banks are reluctant to get involved in, we basically have a Catch 22 Situation ?
