  1. Stop saying “brothers and sisters” Martyn. The Vance types will think it’s date night.

    1. In the church I attend we call ourselves brother & sister since we are all descendants of Adam & Eve. It doesn’t matter what colour we are as we believe that we are all equal.

      1. “we call ourselves brother & sister since we are all descendants of Adam & Eve”

So that’s googly eyes and Spuckler toe defined for my next report home.

  2. As usual under the tyranny of neoliberalism, politicians prioritize hurting a group that their voters don’t like over doing anything to improve life for their voters or (heaven forbid!) the citizenry in general.

For Labour that was people who enjoy smoking, for the Nats it’s ‘maari’ youth.

  3. You’ve only scratched the surface here MB !

The tenders for that magic $10 million for the WHOLE of the rest of the country’s needs other than King’s organisation have opened today.

INVESTIGATE fully this rort by reading the complex , procurement documents dropped … IF you can get passed the jargon.

The BIG CON has arrived today.

    To name some criteria

    * IT’S NOT $10 Million !
Just a mere $5M now for EVERYONE to scrap over and maybe the other later.
    ( WTF – 10 kids in bootcamp is $ 5M ? )

    * If you’ve been successful saving lives for years but struggling for funding eg. Lifeline, … NO sorry. It has to be a NEW INNOVATION!
    ( What’s a new innovation for trauma counselling or suicide ? FFS ! )

    * And to make it even more complicated, your organisation ALREADY HAS TO HAVE MONEY !
A MINIMUM of $ 250, 000 has to be supplied in an agencies funds to qualify because the minimum amount to apply for is $250,000.

*That magic government money is only available on a dollar for dollar basis !
So if your fighting poverty , once more the NATZIs will leech off charity.

UNLESS of course you’re a private business , mate of a mate nudge, nudge and you’ve got a magic box of tricks to sell.
Remember that ‘ Parenting Toolbox ‘ socual investment anyone ?

    1. Yes because gun rights are just such a pressing issue at the moment. To hell with infrastructure, the environment and the economy, some people are tired of running around shouting bang in rapid succession. They want a real gun.

      1. It’s why we voted ACT in, so yes it is important to us. You starving or not being able to get health care, not so much. Gun laws only really effect law-abiding licenced firearms owners, almost no one else, certainly not criminals. 500+ commit suicide per year in NZ, 300+ die on our roads, how many are killed by LFOs? Almost zero every year, so what are you all panicking about? Control, that is all.

  4. If Labour take comfort in your opinion about the dislike for the party being due to a backlash on Jacinda they will not grow or change and will lose next time .
Lies and underhand policies and weak action against gangs and lawless young people sunk their Waka.

    1. Lies and underhand policies define this current government Trevor. There is now so much evidence of this, that it’s beyond question. .
