Remember this Waitangi: ACT wants to revive the Treaty Principles referendum

As Waitangi Day approaches, the Government is attempting to reassure Māori that the Treaty of Waitangi is safe under its leadership. But while Prime Minister Christopher Luxon publicly rules out revisiting the Treaty Principles Bill, his coalition partner ACT is already promising to bring the debate back. This piece examines why those reassurances ring hollow — and why the Treaty Principles referendum remains a live threat.
Prime Minister rejects opposition claim that government is anti-Treaty
Speaking to RNZ, Christopher Luxon claimed any return to the Treaty Principles Bill was “absolutely ruled out”.

The Government’s record shows hostility to the Treaty
Let’s be very clear on two things
First. This Hard Right Government IS anti-Māori and anti-Treaty! They have attacked 23 Treaty of Waitangi clauses this term for crying out loud!
They bash Māori Political Aspiration like it’s a punching bag to keep their redneck cracker rump voters happy.
They hope that by bashing Māori political aspiration, you’ll ignore the train wreck their ideological experiments are causing the economy!
ACT has already promised to revive the Treaty Principles debate
ACT leader David Seymour has made it clear the Treaty Principles debate is not over.
David Seymour promises to reignite Treaty principles debate in 2026
ACT leader David Seymour is promising to reignite the Treaty principles debate next year, saying he’ll never move on from his vision for equality in New Zealand.

A referendum Seymour admits would deepen division
Seymour has previously acknowledged the proposal would inflame tensions — a risk he appears willing to take.
He says he will NEVER move on from this race war inducing legislation.
NEVER!
And let’s not forget David was very upfront about knowing the Treaty Principles Referendum could ignite a civil war…
…so Luxon can say what he likes, but his Government coalition partner intends to re-ignite this and we have all seen how spineless Luxon is.
Coalition politics and the erosion of trust
The great dealmaker will get screwed over and played by Seymour and Winston again!
The polarisation from social media hate algorithms have turned our political landscape into an all-tribe-no-village wasteland and the NZ Political Right are burning as much of it to the ground as they can.

Seemore has to say he will revive the TOW bill as his mate Winstone is stealing all the limelight
Growth that’s what Luxon told us he was all about, remember? And there you have it, what a splendid flourish atop his noggin!
Luxon’s claim his CoC is not racist shouldn’t be a problem to prove since, while initially agreeing to backing everything Seymour wanted, he has backed down on the Treaty Principles Referendum – or so he recently claimed!? So how can this referendum become anything other than rubbish bin material? The Treaty of Waitangi was signed 6 Feb 1840 in good faith by the majority of Maori chiefs and a few Europeans. The Maori version is different and is the only one to consider and MUST be honoured and placed into law so it can’t be tampered with. The English version, a translation, is inaccurate on many fronts and not signed by many. Does the horrible Seymour have any good attributes or even feelings? Are we sure he isn’t an Atlas Robot? Again, Maori once owned our land but now own less about 5-6% and some of you are still not satisfied – unbelievable “settler” attitude and again, excessive GREED! https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/in-depth/401186/nz-s-top-50-private-landowners-revealed
So we need a Labour/Green government. Here is the Green’s tax policy, which I don’t think the Labour Party would go with,,,

Seymour is the best minister of malignant fuckwittery ever
